Boost elbow where to find one?
Alright, so what I have gathered the elbow "regulates" the pressure applied to the diafram that controls the wastegate. Now, I also have a Superchip programmer, well the old school D-Box(65hp/185tq), and I plan on making an adjustable from Ace Hardware. The question I will ask is, how must boost is safe and when should I back out the needle valve to keep the IP from starving like a poor kid in Africa? I ordered a set of gauges from DieselManor earlier today so just as long as my FP is good I plan on making an elbow. Does anyone have an "Adjustable" with the allen screw? If so, can you post us what size screw/threads and the location there-of? Thanks
the way i see it... your programmer doesnt do boost fooling so your truck will probably throw codes for overboost and put your truck in limp mode... and i dont believe your boost will have anything to do with your vp. it is only throwing more air in. your programmer is what will add more fuel an it will only add so much. i have heard that the stock turbo will do 30-35psi so you really need the gauges to know how much boost you are making and how much to screw out the valve to adjust the boost.
