and since i have a superchip which will do my boost fooling i think i should be fine, anyone else have any input.

thanks
gauge will still be nice if you have boost fooling and if that superchips programmer adds more fuel. your turbo will make more psi than stock. shouldnt be enough to hurt it but i like knowing. i am ordering my comander tomorrow next day air so i should have mine all set up by this weekend. i want to see what my boost is before and after the new elbow.

Jturs My boost went from 20 pounds to 30 pounds when I installed the elbow that is with it all the way closed.
Also I noticed that the boost came on sooner I will get to around 25 pounds at 1700-2000 rpms
That is with what I have in my sig.
So I dont think that you should have a problem with over boosting just my opinion.
Hope that this helps.

I made my own, very simple. but the threads on my 00 where not 3/8 NPT or 1/4 NPT. They are 1/8NPT. I hope this saves some trips to the hardware store.

Thanks BIGBEN! Unfortunately, it didn't. I first bought 3/8" then returned it for 1/4". The third trip, I bought a 1/8" to 1/4" coupler and called it good!

I did a write up on it complete with pictures and parts list, but I haven't figured out how to upload it yet.

thanks for all the info guys greatly appreciated. so i just got done making my boost elbow with the needle valve, and i ran it with it open all the way which should be stock then about 1/2 way closed and felt a little difference but then at full close it kinda of felt funny and made a little weird noise but is that just cause all that boost has no where to go once i let off or cause the wastegate isnt opening at all? also kinda felt like my trans started to slip, bad news yes i know. but i decided to keep it open all the way till i get some guages and a getter tuner. any input about all this would be great.

thanks

well if your superchips did add more fuel and it has boost fooling...it is possible that you overboosted. my truck is basically stock and i am not puuting my boost elbow on till i get my gauges first so i know what kind of boost i am making. my suggestion to you is dont run it with your valve more than half way till you get some gauges.

The store bought boost elbows also have a small hole on the elbow. This will further limit boost to the wastegate. When mine was a single I could get 42psi out of the poor little hx35.

wow 42psi outta the hx35 sounds like alot of hot air. but i just made mine from fitting i got at ace hardware and they are all straight through so i dont think i have to worry about that small hole your talking about.

Ya, Im sure it was damned hot air but it dynoed at 526. The hole in my boost elbow went into the atmoshere. The more you screw in the allen head the more it forced out the little port. Worked like a charm with a single but does all kinda weird stuff with twins.

i have seen that qustin asked on here before, i believe the final outcome was yes it does but i am not 100% sure. you can go to superchips website and get there 800 number and call them tomorrow and tell them what you have and ask. they should be able to tell you.
