Boost elbow questions

Installing the boost elbow on my AFC housing. I've read a lot and just don't comprehend everything but I'm forging ahead with a lot of help.

The hose from waste gate steel line to the elbow Barb isn't long enough. Can I use a marine fuel hose with 100psi rating?

If I start with the screw mostly in, what will I see as I back it out?

Thanks

Well, please do not install the boost elbow on the AFC- it belongs on the compressor housing of your turbo, and needs to be connected to the wastegate-

The hose should be long enough, since the adjustable elbow just replaces the stock wastegate elbow.

If the hose is defective, your 100psi marine stuff should do it, but you will need good hose clamps.

The elbow with the screw all the way in acts like stock, turning the screw ccw will increase the boost necessary to open your wastegate.

12Vs are setup different than a 24v. Manifold pressure or boost is supplied from the manifold to a "T" fitting threaded right into the AFC housing, last portion of the T feeds into the wastegate. Replace that fitting on the T with the boost elbow and replace rubber line with a longer piece. Little to no impact on the AFC.

Also cranking the Allen screw clockwise (in) closes the path to the wastegate, increasing boost.

Did it like this. Screw is all the way in, for now...

Interesting- did work on sa 97 12V yesterday. it had the short wastegate line like the 24V and the AFC from the intake runner.
Sorry for the misinformation.

Not a problem for me AlpineRAM, I appreciate you responding to help. I was just following the TST directions and it was making sense for my truck. I had read that I should put it on the turbo, but for the life of me I couldn't find the fitting they were talking about...
