hey all had a quick ? about a boost elbow that came with a super chip my friend purchased. He's not going to use the elbow so he gave the elbow to me. Who, what, when where, and how do I go about installing this little doo-dad? If i put it in I wont need to moniter any vital info by gauges right? I mean it wont turn up my EGT's by much or at all will it? Any info/help would be much appreciated as I am new to tinkering with the boost settings.

 

Are you gonna put it on the 01? If it has an auto you are out of luck, it has that wacky little 9cm housing and hard plumbed waste gate actuator.

 

Do you have an auto or manual tranny? Boost elbow
only works with a manual. Boost elbow by itself won't
do anything to increase power, you will need to add fuel
to go with the increased airflow / boost. Also if you don't
have a boost fooler you will set the check engine light and
get an overboost code if you go over 21# of boost.

 

Aww shucks I happen to have the auto ... I wanted to put it on the 01. O well thought id give it a shot. Im gonna have to put the trannys in my sig. But hey thanks for the help!

 

IF you decide to put on a mild chip like Edge E-Z it has boost fooler built into it. If you get an older Van Aaaken with VP-44 pump hookup you can buy a boost jet orifice that taps into hardline on turbo from Banks, so you won't throw an overboost code. Newer Van Aakens plug in to Map sensor, and have built in boost fooler. With all this info you have to start bombing now.
