Installed my Van Aaken box last Friday. Works great,
boost gets to 21lbs. instantly.I know I need a new boost
elbow if I want to raise max boost. My question is , will it
make any more power with higher boost or just help with
EGT's. Right now I have no problems with EGT's. Max 900*
pre turbo ,truck empty ,WOT in 4th gear. Haven't towed yet.

 

More boost doesnt mean more power. But I would install an elbow since your engine may be able to make more boost. I dont know how the VA box works but if its not reading enough boost it might not be fueling all the way. Just a thought.

 

I've read about adjustable boost elbows and
"fixed" boost elbows. What level boost will I top
out with just the standard"fixed orifice" boost elbow ?

 

30psi with my "fixed" elbow from TST. At least I think it's a fixed one....there is an allen screw in it, but the TST directions say not to move it.
