Exhaust install help NOW!
DPP exhaust, how do I get the downpipe in there? I have tried 9 ways to Sunday for the last 30 minutes and am getting NOWHERE
I don't see any way to do it without pulling the trans crossmember out.
Thanks - this should *not* be this hard...

fat skinny thick or thin, vaseline will get it in.... got a nasty obstruction? something in the way that can be moved aside temp and themn put back in>>> heard of others having to create a low spot in the pipe via heavy hammer to make a notch for things to get by....
i know i couldn't ever get the piece of pipe that goes up and over the rear end on my ford in-out w/o lifting the back of the truck up a little. maybe you need to lift the front of your truck up a little to get it done, i'm not for certain, but it could help. onless you just have to take the crossmember off, it's not that hard i don't think, then again, i'm new to dodges and havn't had to take mine off before. what if you take the turbo off??? its like 4 bolts, and 3 lines or something. i'm just trying to save you some hassle.

oh wait, i have had an encounter with taking the crossmember off a dodge, i didn't go that route because it was such a pain in the ***, i remember, i take what i said about the crossmember being easy to take off back.
I took the heater hoses (I *think* that is what they are) loose, and moved the tranny dipstick out of the way some, and am about *this* close to having it pushed up far enough to clear the tranny crossmember.
Still looks like either the turbo has gotta come loose, or the tranny crossmember has gotta come down... not fun either way
Why don't they tell you this crap in the instructions?

It's been almost a year since I installed my DPP exhaust. I know for sure the downpipe went in from below; but I do not recall having any particular difficulties in getting it into place. I wish I could be of more help.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I do believe that it was over the crossmember and twist into place. I don't recall having much difficulty at all getting it into place. For me the most difficult was removing the old exhaust, especially the two nuts.
Good luck.

Well, I just don't see it going in - AT ALL.
I even put the stocker back in place, and paying attention to how I pulled it out. Problem is - the way it comes out the 4" will NOT go back in - because the stocker drops down between the frame and block ear/tab.
If I try going in over the crossmember fro the back, then the tailhousing of the tranny is in the way. And, the hanger integrated into the tranny mount is in the way.
My dad stopped by, and is outside putting a new set of eyes on the problem - but he is not seeing any other way either.
I guess the next step is to drop the entire crossmember... and that is a frustrating option it seems nobody else has had to go through.

When i did all my exhaust work and i did it alot cause im on my 4th homemade setup i just unbolted the turbo and had enough room to work with. I just put my tranny in last week and the crossmeber aint comin out or goin back in with out a port a power. Id try unbolting the turbo and you should be ok.
