i was looking at a boost elbow and all it looks like is a 1/8 pipe fitting with a 90 degree bend? is the hose side bigger and if so is it just a hardware store part or something special? If i replace that elbow is there a cheap j hook mod ?

 

If that's all it was then it was not a boost elbow. A true boost elbow is what you described plus a needle valve which looks like socket head set screw. This is used to adjust air flow. Did you miss this?

You can make your own for about 5.00. Get the elbow and an allen screw that will just about fill the hole in the elbow, Drill and tap outside elbow to fit allen screw(make sure it is as straight as possible) and screw in the allen screw(blue loctite is recomended). Make sure the allen screw is long enough to block the air or it wont do buggy. Piece of Cake
