Boost control elbow question.

I'm finishing my gauge install (pyro and boost) on my 97 Ram 12 valve 215 pump, NV4500, 5 speed, 4x4. I'm hoping to have time within the next month to swap out my fuel plate for a #10 I ground. Anyways, I will be installing a boost control elbow from TST. I noticed while doing searches here that there are two types of stock setups for controlling the wastegate. Mine has a small line that runs from the intake manifold to the afc(it's only about a foot long), and connects to a "T" fitting that has a large hose that goes over the engine and down to the wastegate(not the turbo housing). On the afc side, this hose comes straight down to the side of the "T". The boost control elbow is a 90deg elbow. So my question is, can the "T" fitting be tightened more so the boost control elbow will point up to the hose or am I missing something on a better way to connect it? It doesn't appear that there is slack in the hose be able to leave the "T" fitting the way it is and bend the hose around to connect to the boost control elbow. Any suggestions or pics are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I do not like putting the new boost elbow in that T. What I do is remove the T and the steel line that passes through the valve covers, and hook that plastic line from the intake straight into the AFC. Then I drill and tap the turbo compressor housing (1/8th npt) and install the new boost elbow there and run a short hose to the wastegate actuator.
The reason I do this? Well, the new boost elbow has a hole and it bleeds air off. Well, you really need that air to push on the diaphram in the AFC housing to deliver more fuel as you build boost...and that bleed hole isn't helping you by bleeding the air that's suppose to be needed for the AFC. It's amazing how much more responsive 5spd trucks are when that elbow isn't at the AFC location.
The 12v automatics and the 24v trucks all have the elbow in the turbo compressor housing...where it should be.

MikeR, thanks for the advice! That thought crossed my mind earlier today, but, I was involved in something else and lost it as quickly as it arived. I do have a couple more questions though. Is the compression fitting for the line from the intake manifold to the 'T' the same threads as the 'T' that threads into the AFC? Also, the steel line that runs from the hose that goes over the engine to the wastegate, can it be re-used by bending with a brake line "bender" then re-use the hose to connect the steel line to the boost controller elbow that I would install in the turbo housing? One last question, where would you recommend the boost control elbow be installed in the turbo housing...is there a specific location somewhere on it's surface that's best or doesn't it matter? Thanks for the help!!!
