I would recommend an Edge EZ but you would defanitly wanted to get a set of gauges. Me personally I bought an EZ used, never installed it and sold it today to a member on here to buy a new Juice w/ Attitude. It has the opition of more power and the benefits of gauges too. You can run the Juice untapped on the injection pump and make the same power as an EZ but if you tap it you need to be looking at some tranny upgrades if you go full power on it. My truck is going to get another clutch, torque converter, valve body and billet shafts this spring or summer. I warn you this power stuff is addicitive, we could be doing worce things than laying down some rubber and making lots of soot.

I agree with Adam. Go with the EZ if you have the auto tranny. Mine keeps me satisfied for now. The tranny seems to be handleing it fine.

Thumbs up Edge EZ

Ditto on the EZ. You should be able to find a used one in the classifieds. Mine worked flawlessly for six years on my '99. If you combine with stock injectors, your tranny should be fine. EZ should give you 1-2 mpg. increase. Be sure to install the boost elbow.

i had great luck with my superchips. gave me 4-5 MPG highway and more in town over what i was getting. now my truck is broke in and i sold the superchips for a smarty. the smarty has more steps and can be stacked easily with other things, is downloadable with updates and i still get my increased MPG and power. if you just want a tuner and done, for $300 go with the superchips, if your going to play bigger and badder you can go with the smarty for a bit more than double that. these are the only two i can comment on, i have no experience with the others.

IMO no chip is the best for a stock auto. They just cant handle much power. The EZ or a Van Aaken is a good choice. Do do over 65 more hp or the tranny will get very angry!!

I second (or 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc.) the Van Aaken, it has more torque than EZ and great fuel mileage.

Although in my opinion NO CHIP is safe for your transmission, remember Dodge is not known to have the best tranny out there....

I have a SC and my tranny would handle the performace setting great and would not slip, I just really couldn't tell much difference between tow performance and performance. Now after I installed the stage 3 nozzles, I can run around town on tow safe without slipping the tq conv. but anything over that is just bad. Pulling, I just run the nozzles because the tranny can't handle both. It just depends on what shape your tranny is in but I can tell you that mine has 152,000 miles on a stock set up and it's handling it just fine.

I like mine, lets me keep up with some newer trucks and blow a little smoke on them. Is my truck fast... no but it has its moments tranny is the weakest link of the whole truck and if you get an EZ you will find that out. It wont hurt it unless you let it just be carefull with you right foot

I can my comp on my stock tranny, lasted > 3k miles and I only had 3rd gear :P so just my opinion, I'd maybe go an ez if your tranny is in okay condition, and don't let the tranny slip, i.e. hammer the throttle at low rpm, or in overdrive/lock up will toast it for sure.
