I was talking to a guy about chips. He was saying that when guys do the chips and haven’t changed anything to add more air in the intake and allow the exhaust to escape better that you begin to have problems and many times blow your motor when you really get on it. Is this the case or is he full of it?

well anyone can blow there motor but it should not be a problem, I personally wouldent worry about it at all but I only own my truck ya know

 

you need gauges so you can monitor things so you dont blow your engine....gauges then power adders. then learn to watch your gauges

 

The only problems I can see if adding a chip with nothing else done is high EGT's. You would want to have at least an EGT gauge if you are going to be getting some sort of chip before exhaust. The Air Filter I wouldnt worry too much about, stock boxes are good for a good I believe 300HP.
