Best air filter

what is the best air filter that yall have seen. i have a Green and a K&N and am wondering if they let dirt get through to my engine. they sure do let the motor breathe though.

I run an Amsoil filter on my AEM Brute Force intake tube...you can also purchase an Outerwears prefilter that's water proof and I understand Amsoil is now making a prefilter too...(there's a ton of turbo whistle through these filters!)

Dunno 'bout the other one but most here won't use the K&N because the oil used on the filter ends up in the turbo and they don't filter out enough dirt/dust...

Here's a pic of the universal "Nano Fiber" filters:

i have a K&N filter on mine and i dont really like it, if there is to much oil on the filter the turbo will suck it in then dirt sticks to the oil, and if there isnt enough oil it dosnt filter worth a darn.

I love my K&N cone style filter with intake tube. Does not let dirt through, does not suck oil, breathes great, lets the turbo sing. What more could a guy ask for?

Although most will say K&N are junk, mine has and still serves me well.

I have an Airaid Quickfit on my 98. I don't have any issues with dirt or oil getting to the turbo.

I am going to be getting the Airaid prefilter soon, for extra protection.

Looking at the Airaid side by side with a K&N, the Airaid seems to be constructed a lot better. I can see a lot more light through the K&N, than the Airaid.

A standard high quality paper filter is good up to 400 HP.
