Bed Extender

Who's got one? Which brand?

I'm needing the extra space for the quad and hunting setup. My fear is that the ones I'm finding don't look like they are very sturdy.

Thanks...

My dad has one from his ferd. No, they're mearly to just hold light cargo in....that is if you're talking about the "cargo" extension. I certainly wouldn't expect to hold anything more than luggage or groceries.

I thought about using 2" tubing and using the receiver hitch as a way to support longer loads. This would help reduce the load on the tailgate. One could easily weld up an extension to fit into the receiver hitch. Just make sure to confirm the hitch tounge rating.

I have been considering getting one of these. There are times when im camping with my toyhauler and need to transport ATVs a short distance. So this might work so I don't have to break camp and hook the trailer back up. I think it would let me carry 2 ATVs in the truck bed at the same time.

That's nice, just a little out of the budget. Plus I only cary One quad and I'm betting it would be pretty hairy putting my Sportsman on that (steep angle).

Yea....not bad for the price. I'm just not sure about the load capacity but it looks reasonable to hold an atv. Since I have a bunch of 2" stock lying around I'll still probably make my own and it will be able to exceed hitch capacity....but not that I would do it.

I would need Chris Angel to levitate a 4 wheeler to get that on my truck... Tow pkg and 35's make the bed rail at the center of my chest (I'm 6'3"). How do you get them up there?

We used to carry 3 quads (one yfz450, one z400, and a trx450) and a dirt bike(kx250f) on my old f-150. Simply strap down one quad on the roof, then piggy back the other two tight to one side and then slide the dirt bike in backwards. Took all of us to get them on there like that but really wasn't that hard. We used to get people pulling up to us trying to get pictures. Pretty funny. Oh coarse that only works if you don't care about a quad on your roof.

I drive them up , its not for the faint of heart on level ground , usually find an incline , doesn't make it as bad .The sides slide in also to be even with the bed side if only taking one bike (pic shows winching them on do to the bikes going into storage ie. no gas in them ) the ramp sildes together and stores under the deck , they cost around $3500 (CDN)

I've seen those before on tv but never on the road. I was wondering how the ride would be with that top heavy load? NICE quads by the way!
