B&W Gooseneck extender

Sort of a dumb question but...

Assuming you have plenty of clearance, if you had a long bed and put this extender in BACKWARDS, would you see any benefits by having the pin weight moved 4" forward? Better control or weight distribution?

From all I have read and heard that anywhere from right over the punkin to 1 to 2 inches forward is where most install the plates, fifth wheels. I am unfamiliar with those kind of goose setups, all I have installed were 1 to 2 inches forward as I stated. I wouldn't see any problems, unless you were pushing the limits of the pin weight. there shouldnt be any weight distributuin difference since that extender still sits the weight at the same spot a regular ball would. dont know if it would tow any different, might have a problem with clearance at the rear of the truck though
