Battery Blanket
Battery Blanket
I've noticed a Dodge "battery blanket" accessory around $30 that is said to improve starting power by warming your battery. Anyone know if this is worth adding? I am assuming 2 blankets would be required for the diesel's dual battery setup.

Re:Battery Blanket
As dodgeram said. Also don't forget that in cold weather it takes MORE amps to turn any engine over. When the battery gets cold and loses power plus the addional amps required to turn this cold engine over, anything you can do to help the battery will result in more amps (read more power)going to turn that sluggish engine over faster. A diesel engine requires a faster turn over speed to start than a gasser. In short, yes, a blanket, specially a heated one, does help in colder climates.

I used to have a blanket on each battery and I found that they just boil the battery acid. I didn't relish that idea so I removed them.<br>Andy
