Has anyone installed a Hitco exhaust manifold heat blanket? How does it function, what does it do? Is it only to reduce heat? Does it dampen any noise?

 

I ran one for some time and still have it on the shelf. It does dampen the noise in the cab alot. <br><br>I took it off because the time to cool down the turbo took way too long and at the time I still has my stock manifold and was worried about it shrinking faster.<br><br>I now have a Larry B heat sheild on my Pier HX-40
