Balancing & Calibrating a P-Pump

Looking to have my pump balanced and calibrated.. Is this worthwhile on a 180 pump?
I have already performed some of the AFC & rack travel modifications, but I'm looking for MORE fuel.

Lets hear some opinions please.

From what I understand you would be better off to spend your money on a 215 pump or change the cam in yours as it dosent take much reach the max of the 180s cam. The DVs you have will give you allot more with a different cam (fill time profile)

I just had an 887 worked on at Industrial Injection is Salt Lake City. They increased the output a bit and balanced it. It is the best running pump I have had. Took about a week and was around 200 dollars for what they did. Smooth running and springs were adjusted perfectly. Top notch job! I don't mean for it to sound like an advertisement, but they did a nice job. (not everyone does.)

They turned it up a bit. Just enough to get back up to the 500hp mark. There's about 20% more available without changing plungers and barrels.

I do not know what is done. I have heard that it involves changing the amount of rack travel. It is alot cheaper than buying injectors.

i have no proof for this,,, but a guy told me, taking out the big plug on front of the pump, and there is the thing that moves with the governor... he said grind that down a bit, so it will travel further forward... can only be done with the pump off.... i looked in that plug, but havent done anything to it.. what do you think?

No. Magic is what it takes to make a VE pump hold up once it's been bumped up to modest p7100 output.

DOES A vp PUMP die even easier when modded, or with a box or two?

I have heard they die a bit quicker with mods. I never ran mine with the VP-44. It was converted before it was bolted in place.
My "magic" comment was directed at the rotary pump in Bills truck.
