A friend has a 99 Auto and has blowed the auto tranny up twice in a row now and is wanting to convert his truck to a six speed, and he has a line on a 06 truck with the g56, Can a G56 be put behind his 99 and what parts will be needed to do the complete swap if so?? Thanks for any advice, btw its also a 4x4..

If I remember right, I don't think the tranny will bolt directly up to his motor being a 6 speed. I'm not 100% positive, but I think the HO's had a different bolt pattern on them for the 6 speed trannies, or atleast I think they do!

Tell'im to hit the local boneyards, do an eyewitness comparison - or can call Dodge or some of the transmission vendors to see if the adaptor ring is same, all years - get the complete trans\adaptor case setup to get the big NV271 unit

 

Well he has an wrecked available 06 with the g56 and can get anything off of it.. i know u can put a nv5600 behind it but can you put this g56?? Any help appreciated

 

bellhousing pattern should be the same but i dunno about anything else.

 

Call Dodge parts, see if the adaptor is the same - see if the flywheel hub pattern is the same - the bellhousing will then fit his adaptor, and the required 13" clutch and flywheel will fit - he'll need to figger out something to do on the rear crossmember if he doesn't have the 13" wide version, and he'll need the clutch pedal stuff from the '98-'02 series, and the driveshaft\yoke
