Anybody using a Lukes Link on a Tie-Rod?
I have the Lukes Link on the track bar but I also have four crapped out tie-rods. I was looking at the tire rod at each knuckle and it looks really close to the inside of the wheel. Will the LL really fit?
I have them on two of my tie rod ends as well as my trac bar and they seem to be ok. I have had them on for about 2500 miles now and have had no problems. Seems like it took a couple days for me to get use to them, I guess I wasn't use to driving a vehicle that drove correctly.
Install isn't tough. The trackbar is the hardest one, it can be a bear to remove without hammering the ballstud threads to death...
I have 3 LL kits on my tie rod ends - I think it took 2-3 hours taking my time to install them all. Don't forget to get realigned when you're done...

No, it is generally not required that you get an alignment done when replacing a non-adjustable suspension component. However, that being said, when was the last time it was on a rack? It never hurts to make sure that the front end is in check. Those control arm bushings can get a little sloppy and it can be difficult to diagnose unless its' on a rack.
I have a couple lukes links installed on my truck and the most difficult part of the job is not installing the lukes link (it only takes 15 minutes) but rather removing the track bar or tie rod.

The lukes link kit on my truck brought it slightly out of alignment... FYI. Had it on the rack immediately before and immediately after, it really only cocked the steering wheel - didn't increase/decrease the toe angle.
well my truck was on the rack about 2 months ago but since i don't have the front wheel spacer anymore. (lost after tire rotation) the steering wheel is kinda cocked anyway. and yes the alignment was after i lost the spacer
I'm getting ready to buy the whole kit so does it work for tie rod ends or not? I don't want to go through the hassel of this if it is not going to work. I lost a month with my tranny being out and now that its pulling season/2 legged dear hunting season I want my TRUCK
Do some searching, the cheapest way I found was to purchase a couple Luke's Links, but also replace the factory tie rod end (the short one) as it was cheaper at NAPA than a Luke's link.
Call Johnny Laucus at Luke's Link and he can tell you what you need to know. The only clearance issues I am aware of are with very deep aftermarket wheels. I run American Racing Outlaw 2's and they're nowhere near having a clearance problem with the links.
