I found a local diesel shop that is going out of buisiness, he has one that will fit my truck (1999 ctd 24v). But I didn't know if it was worth $250.00 or if I would be wasting money.

For 250 bucks I would jump on that deal you wont be sorry! It will wake your truck up rather nice for being a mild box. I like mine it helped a bunch towing my horse trailers

 

If it's the Van Aaken V5 , go for it. I've tried 3 different
plug in boxes and a certain programmer , and the
Van Aaken V5 was the best.Wish I still had it

Look on ebay. He had 5 more a few days ago. He said he was selling them at cost. But I think they were for the 2003 and up? They are $250.00 plus $10.00 shipping.

 

I have a VA box stacked with my Bluechip. It works well.

 

Van AAkens are a very popular product, with a high reputation for satisfaction.

The only concern I would have is buying from a "Going out of business sale"

If you do end up with warranty issues it could come back to bite you. I didn't follow the link so I don't have a clue who is selling it, just a friendly reminder to be careful

 

I used one on my 01.5 for a while. Good product just outgrew it. Think I paid 150 for mine off of ebay

 

I like mine. Great for towing. Especially with injectors.
