Posi Lok Experince

I'm getting ready to install a posi-lok on my truck. The diaphragm is shot so I thought I would "upgrade" since it had to be fixed. I did some searching on the forum for any snags I may come up with and I found some people who are not happy with the posilok. It can get pretty cold here and it's not odd to find my self playing in lots of snow.

I don't mind buying a new oem setup, I just don't want to install the posi lok and find I should have stuck with what dodge did in the first place.

the only problem with the posi-lok kit is that you have to be moving pretty slow when you engage the front end. the nice thing is that when installed you get 2wd low, very nice for backing up trailers. mine went out a while ago and i replaced the OEM unit with a pois-lok in Minnesota, it didnt freeze up or anything like that. it was a little difficult running the cable just cuz it is pretty stiff, easy to engage and dis-engage though.

The engineering on it isn't the greatest but it works. If you are someone who likes everything to be mechanical, then do it. If you like the 4wd system to not require any input, then go with another oem setup.

I want it to work every time I need it too. At the end with the oem it was hit and miss.

I've got the posi lock on mine, the only time I have problems is when i don't get it fully engaged and handle tight.

Personally, I want to get the EMS kit and do away with it altogether, but for now it works well.
