Any advice on gauges?
So I've looked around a while and decided what, and where I want my gauges.
A-Pillar:
Boost
Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio
Fuel Pressure
On Dash:
Trans. Temp
Pyro (EGT)
Air Intake Temp
Now my questions.
#1. I don't tow alot, but bought this truck with a year and a half old Sun Coast tranny, and torque converter. I want to beef this truck up power-wise, and make sure the tranny is operating the way it should. Any other guages, besides temperature I should be looking at?
#2. Is the Air Intake Temp necessary information to have? Is there a better gauge I should have, I may be overlooking?
#3. Are there any sites that sell the gauges and gauge pods I'm looking for in sets, to save a little money?
Thanks

I don't think you are overlooking anything. If anything you are overkill. The Air Intake Temp is not necessary, would certainly be nice though. I kinda want one. And I don't think it would even be possible to put an air-fuel ratio gauge in, because of the direct injection. On a diesel ening there is no throttle plate, the engine can draw as much air as it wants. You need more if you have heavy black smoke under boost.
And what engine do you have, 12v or 24v? FP is not as important on a 12v, but it is vital on a 24v.
Lots of sites sell packages,
www.tstproducts.com
www.genosgarage.com
www.dieselmanor.com
www.citydiesel.com (where I got my Isspros)
There are many others that I cannot recall at the moment.

Thanks for the sites. 'Spose I should fill out my signiture. I'll get on that right now. It's a 12V.
So the air/fuel gauge wouldn't really benifit me? I was thinking I saw these on other diesels, but I could be wrong.
And out of curiosity man, how would it benifit you to know the air intake temp? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it for me to get the gauge.
Thanks

I would like to know AIT just for my own personal interst. See how hot it is at high boost, stuff like that. Really be cool to have one pre, and one post intercooler... Not necessary by any means. At least at most power levels.
For your truck the usual gauge setup would be Pyro, Tranny Temp, and Boost. FP would be mostly to moniter filter condition, and the others would be for personal interst.
