After upgrades fuel milage

Upgraded with RV275's an a Edge EZ about six weeks ago, so the new has worn of off the power increase. After reading other upgrade post fuel milage with this set up for other appeared to have stayed the same or increased some. Mine has dropped off at least two miles to the gallon, down to 15.5 with a five speed and 3.55 gears. Have run the truck with the EZ disconnected and there is no change in the fuel milage but a decrease in power. There is a noticable power increase with the EZ reconnected. Has anyone else had this problem? Could I have bought a bad set of injectors? I'm to the point of pulling the 275's out and putting the OEM's back in. Can't live with the 15 mpg. Drove to NE Missouri last week pulling a 24' horse trailer with hunting gear and four wheelers. Set the cruise at 70, only had one hill that I went down to 60 mph on. Can't complain about the power, milage on the trip was about 13.5 mpg. I have checked all the boost connections, and such. New lift pump with good pressures.

Re:After upgrades fuel milage

Bkay, I have the EZ on mine. My fuel milage hasnt changed any. I dont hammer it either, just drive normally. The mileage on mine has hovered around the 14-15 mpg in town and 17-19 highway.

Re:After upgrades fuel milage

I'm on my second tank of fuel with the 275's. I installed them with about 5/8 left in the first tank and did get worried as the gauge seemed to drop faster than before but my computer read 18 mpg for the tank when I filled up and I calculated out 17.5 actual. That is city/highway combined so not too bad.

My second tank just came off full after about 100 miles so I seem on track with previous tanks but will let you know when I refill at 3/8 if you are still interested. At that point I will know if mileage improved or worsened since the 275 upgrade.

Jim

I averaged 19 going out to MassDiesel for my upgrades (DDIIs, etc..) and 17 coming back. BUT, the temp did drop significantly, so I think that is playing a factor in it. I seem to be getting a steady 17.xx with mixed city/hwy driving now. Hopefully it will improve some in the spring! ;D

Tony

So how would one dterimine if the 275's I have are matched or up to spec's? Other than installing the factory set back in to see if that is where my fuel milage went to.
