Well i dont know if this is the case for everyone but i have a 4k gsk and i can only hit about 2800 rpm with my auto, because the transmission shift points always keep me below that. My buddies auto is the same way with the 4k gsk as well, the only way to get above 3000 rpm is to manually hold it in a certain gear. But to answer your question, the only thing i have really seen was hd valve springs, i did read something about some bad vibrations at high rpms damaging the crank but i cant remember were i saw it at. Maybe someone else can elaborate on that.

Dave you can change out the 1-2 and 2-3 shift springs in the VB with a stronger rate springs to lengthen the shift points. Very easy to do. Give DTT ir GB a call. They have the differ springs.

I don't plan on bringing it all the way up to 4 and above so does anyone think that a Fluidampr would help with the vibrations?

4K rpm shouldn't put THAT much stress on the valve train, should it? I can see it putting stress on the bottom end due to the long stroke, but your typical valve train on a gasser is meant to see 4K rpm and can do so for LONG periods of time... why can't ours?
