47RH swap
47RH swap
My buddy has a 95 2wd CTD. He also has a full billet 47rh DTT in it. He's selling the truck and is starting to part it out. My question is would it be worth trying to put his 47rh in place of my 47re and vice versa? I've read that I need a seperate switch to control OD and lockup or a lock up controller. I've also read a bunch of confusing information that seems to contradict itself. I was just wondering if yall have any experience with this. Thanks.
You would have no problems controlling it with 2 switches, thats how it works in my 93. The truck will throw codes at you because its not getting the expected signals from the valvebody and such.
The problem you'll have with a 47RH might involve some driveline issues, the OD section of a 47RH is slightly longer that a 47RE making the overall length slightly longer.
I don't know if a swap like that is worthwhile, you might be able to take his front section and put a RE OD section on(DTT rebuilt in this case), put your RE valve body in it and call it a 47RE. That would be a ? for DTT to see if it can be done and if they even recomend doing something like that.
