727 to 47RH Swap
727 to 47RH Swap
I'm putting in a 47rh in place of the 1990 727, I have been reading and trying to make sure this will work. I have read a lot of place of needing (a new bell housing adaptor that is about an inch thicker than the one that’s in there now) do I need this for sure or will the trans have it on it? I'm having the Trans shipped to me this next week. Where can I find this adaptor if needed or can I get it from local dealer? Will my starter fit of the 90? (I just put a new one inmaybe has three starts on it) does anyone have diagram the wiring information I need to manual lock the OD and TC. I'm over seas with the military till Aug 1 and transmission will be waiting for me when I get home. Do I need to get the auto recycling place send me more parts?confused:

The '04-'02 adaptor is available from Dodge, Cummins, and some of the aftermarket trans and drivetrain vendors and your local boneyards - and probably the place your trans is coming from - you will need the starter- see if they can send you all the pieces in one package - may be more economical
