3.73 Ratio available for D80/D70/D60
I don't know if you all knew this or not, but I just learned that you can get a 3.73 ratio ring and pinion set for the D60 (reverse rotation) and the D80 from Randy's Ring and Pinion.
This might be the ticket for those guys who think 4.10s are a bit too much, and 3.54s are a little too tall.
With stock 265 tires, the 3.73 will drop your cruise speed (at 2000 rpm) from 71mph to 67mph (6-sp), so it's a fairly subtle change that might not be worth the expense.
Of course, the 4.10s are still available, as are 4.30s--but no 4.56s
For you D70 guys, you get 4.56s, but no 4.30s.
IMO, the D80 guys with the 4.30s would have a great towing gear for larger tires. with 285 tires and 6-sp trans, the 4.30s put you at 60mph for 2K rpm-- right where you want your grunt.
