2nd generation Smarty downloads

Are there going to be any new downloads for the 2nd generation
Smarty's. I know some people like myself are looking for a little
more timing and less fuel for reduced smoke at low boost.

Marco is still working out some bugs with the CR programming not to mention getting ready for the release of the 06 Smarty... I'm sure once he gets some things cleared up, we'll see some more tweaks to the 2nd Gen Smarty.

Ok, say he really tweaks the Smarty for the 2nd gen., would you have to buy a whole new one or just update yours? I'm leaning towards one but don't want to get stuck with something out-dated.

You just update it. A normal USB cable plugs into the smarty and your computer, you download the driver, download the software, and voila. Your smarty, she is upgraded.

(And yes, the Smarty is very easily upgraded by downloading the new s/w over the internet and then uploading it via USB cable)

I know the Smarty is a work in progress. I bought it for the
adjustability. I do know , with trying 3 different "plug-in" boxes
that you can have the throttle response and quick spool-up that
the Smarty gives with alot less smoke. Just need a little more
agressive timing advance and base fueling on boost pressure.

The reason those boxes don't throw out smoke like the smarty is because they still have the factory low end defueling built in. The smarty eliminates the defueling and shows you what the truck really has. I run my smarty on #5 with 155hp injectors and it's very easy to drive around the smoke. You might see a very thin wisp out of the stacks but that's it.

I was under the impression that the manual transmissions
like I have don't have the defueling , it's only to save the
automatic trannys. I do notice the upper rpm defueling gone
on my truck with the Smarty. My old plug-in box used to
really "lay down" ar 2400 rpm. Smarty fuels to 2700 rpm where I
now shift. What I do know is that all that black smoke is fuel
going out the tail pipe and not making hoursepower. I just want
a little more timing and a litttle less smoke.

Thats what I thought too, but dropping down to the non catcher sw's: 1-3 really take all the fun out of the lower gears. The difference between 3 and 5 is huge.
