26 LBS Fuel Pressure??
Is 26 pounds at and idle too much for a HRVP 44? My friend has a BD pusher pump set up and was wondering if 26-idle, 21-cruising and 14-WOT is safe??
I have read that pressure over 20 psi may cause hard starts. Also, may be hard on seals in the injector pump.
Don't know the BD pump, but if it's adjustable ... I would keep idle at just under 20 psi...to be safe!

There was another thread......somewhere around here and someone gave specs on it. I can't remember what the highest pressures were. I know I do remember hearing something about damage to the injection pump if fp is to much....but not an authority on the subject. It would take some search efforts to find that thread, but it's in here....somewhere....it's like Ragu spaghetti sauce!!
As hard as this is to believe, but my buddy has a 2000 dodge that has a pump without a regulator pushing 42 PSI at idle!!!! It pulls down to about 26 to 28 PSI at WOT. No problems running or starting with one battery. When we were building his twins he insisted on not flipping the manifold like I told him so he had to lose one battery so the filter could sit there. It starts better at 15 degrees than mine does at 50!!
I run 30 psi at idle, 45 down the interstate and can pull it down to 25 or so wot. I have a mech pump driven off the cam so I have very little press at start up though. No problems at all in the last 7 mos. Starts are instant much quicker than my 06. If you have a aftermarket cam the fuel system can be had for about $250. I used to run a fass and sold it used for more than I paid for this entire set up. The catch is you need a cam with a lobe on it, but if you were gonna change the cam anyways it is worth it. Tim
Tim buddy, have you dynoed that truck of your yet? Is your new parts making more power than your last set of injectors that I bought off you? I found out that my motor was ok, just that I had a lose ATS manifold and had one heck of a exhaust leak. Your not running any pressure regulator on your VP? I was told that over 30psi you might get some get a leaking VP seals.
