Thumbs up 12V rough/loping idle

I think its awsome how the pulling trucks sound when there at idle and building boost. What makes them sound so cool? I wish mine could sound thumpy.

set the timing at about 35* and put some huge injectors in that dribble fuel at idle

oh, and mill about .080" off the top of the pistons

I was told that if i advance timing over 15* i will probaly blow the head gasket. What do you call huge injectors? What does milling .080" off the piston do?

Lowers compression and provides valve relief if youre running a big cam. Its not necessary though unless youre wanting to make biiig power.

you should be fine up to about 17*

huge injectors are ones that you wouldn't want to drive around with in your truck all the time

what he said about lower compression... oh and they also won't start without ether

Im not sure, it was on the truck when i bought it. But its not a stock compressor and the exhaust side is non wg. Thats why im afraid to bump the timing up until i get the head o ringed and studs.

a buddy of mine's 95 CTD lopes alot at idle.
He said it does it because he previously "starved" it too much for fuel...

any truth to this?
