12" sub and amp?

I have a 99' quad cab and I'm looking to add a subwoofer. I was looking for a single 12" box for under the rear seats. I have only found them for 02+. I'm thinking about a jl stealth box. Anyone insall one with leather interior? Are they good? Where can you buy one? Also what about hooking up an amp with the stock infinity system? Thanks!

ctturbodiesel, I dont think your going to find a box for a 12" that will fit under the rear seat of a second gen. Additionally I believe the largest you can get a stealth, is for 10's.

I was in the same dillema a couple of years ago. I checked out the stealths...and they were allright. I ended up going a different route. I had my local car audio shop custom make a box for me. It turned out real nice. They molded the bottom out of fiberglass for a nice and snug fit. I got it done for about the same cost of a stealth. A friend of mine has the same speakers as me in his stealth box. Mine put his to shame.

IMO, depending on amp, you will probably end up toasting those infinitys

As always just my 0.02, Heres a pic of my box w/ some 10" Fosgate subs

Ive got a box I built like that ,Its fibreglass on the bottom too,but I got the subs facing upwards instead though.Infact both of my trucks have boxes like this. One has 2 12's and the other 2 10's.Both fit fine and sound great. You can build it for pretty cheap depending on the finish you want

**** that's a lot of kickers in a truck! I went to my local stereo shop and they sell the stealth box. I got real lucky because they took one out of a truck and removed the speaker. I have a jl w3 sub sitting at my house. Hopefully everything will work out for me.

Also where can I tap into to get sound for my amp? I would like to tap right off of the back of the stock infinity radio.

I wouldn't tap into the stock deck......it has no sub control and frankly the sound quality you get out of the stock one sucks!! If you want decent sound I would suggest upgrading to a decent aftermarket deck.

If that's not an option, I know they sell an adapter that wires in on the back side of the stock deck that allows you to plug your RCA wires in.
