1000 Ft lbs, what's it take (24v)?????
Like Jet Pilot said above...a full B-1 would be your best bet but won't work with you e-brake, I don't think. Your going to have to go with the hybrid as far as I know. Nothing wrong with the Drag Comp but it will get toasty very quickly and you will need to turn it way down for towing. Just so your aware. If your looking for 1,000 lb-ft towing torque, IMO, it will take twins.

Your EGT's will be out of sight with the Drag Comp, DD3's & HX40/35 Hybrid!
My 12v is running some nice EDMs and yet with my PDR HX35/14 I could(if I wanted) push it to 1400*+. But towing this turbo moved enough air at 1800 rpms that my egts were actually cooler than with the stock 215s.
It all depends on where you want your power..if you want to keep things cool in the lower range of rpms..you will need to tighten the housing up a little or you will run warm. Now if all you are looking for is the top end...and more air..go with a bigger housing or full B-1
As far as needing twins to make 1000lbs or torque...you dont! Now if you want to be able to use that 1000lbs of torque for towing...then yes you will...
All depends on what you want your truck to do..

I tow every weekend with my combination but I leave the comp on 3X3 and I'm only dragging 8000-9000 pounds around at altitudes in the 1700 feet and under range. On 5X5 where the actual drag portion comes in to play by not de-fueling over 2700rpm you would be fogging out everything within a mile of the back of the truck. My horsetrailer is white but it wouldn't be for long if I tried to tow on that setting. And yes it gets hot quick on 5X5. That's why it's called a Drag version. Short term usuage only.
Alot of good info so far! I don't tow much at all, just want to hit the magic 1000 number. I wouldn't mind having to turn it way down to tow. Who makes the B1 turbo?? What hybrids are available that will allow me to keep my ex-brake??

The PDR HX35 - http://www.piersdiesel.com/Hx35.htm
and the B-1-EX3 - http://www.piersdiesel.com/B1b.htm
I am pretty sure the Dodgezilla will work also as it has the HX-35 outlet.

There may be others, and if there are, someone will surely chime in and let you know.

I just dyno'd 434hp/975tq last weekend with my mods. Comp 5x5 with the air filter off. Near 1350*. I got back from Baja the weekend before that towing 12k trailer, probably 20k gcw. This combo is very driveable. From what I've read, the B1 series of turbos are NEARLY indestructable and I can turn the Comp off/on as needed. From my experience with this stuff, I'd go with a regular B1 turbo (exe3 is nice for downpipe and brake, but you neck it right back down to 3.5" instead of exe4 for HX40 4" v-clamp outlet or normal B1 outlet), EDM 3.5 or 4.
