Why Mastiffs don't make good house dogs

He thinks he's a lap dog. I think he broke one of my ribs getting up here with me but it's all good because he's my buddy.

Not to mention the flying slobber if they are slinging there 5 gallon bucket head around. We've had 3 Eng. Mastiffs and raised one Litter. Little LuLu at 205 lbs passed this summer, she would have been 12 in 3 more months. The Male, Wooly Bully would try to climb up in my lap and sometimes did, he's gone on too. Great dogs. We're getting a Cane Corso [Italian Mastiff] in Jan. for guard dog. They are not as big, I'm gettin too old to Hoss a dog like that around when they are sick, and weight becomes a burden when they get older. Sure do miss them.

American mastiff...bred to remove Anatolian genes to be dry-mouthed. $1500 for a pup from Flying W Farms in Ohio.

I don't do pansy dogs.

Actually his mama was a registered Cane Corso and she got with ????, maybe a lab. Great dog and an excellent guard dog. He would never bite anyone but they don't know that and the rif-raf stays away. My other one is a Neoplitan who is too lazy to do anything but she is very intimidating. Both are very good with the kids and the cats.

I had a biker buddy who had a Neopolitan Bull Mastiff .... we measured a full 12 inches between his ears !! The thing was a moose ... infact, that was his name.
They had him chained to a steel semi truck wheel for a while but later had to add another one after he drug the first one (and the logging chain) across the parking lot to pin the landlord against the side of the garage !!

I think they make great lap dogs and great indoor dogs. My sister in laws has an English Mastiff (I have in my gallery) and she is now 135 lbs. Just a big over sized puppy.LMAO
