ok at least trailblazen & Spun agree with me,
it's got a real coarse finish, like broomed instead of smoothed.

but Spun ain't exactly a reputable source, think he's been hitting the kim chee hisself?

My fathers brushed finish concrete drive did it too, until the salt from winter started dissolving the surface of the concrete. I would guess it is the water displacing air pockets in the porous concrete. Not sure, but I have heard the sound many times after washing cars.
