When it rains, it pours

My wife died on me Christmas day. I maintained CPR until the Paramedics arrived. They zapped her and brought her back to life. At the hospital they couldn't find anything wrong with her, nothing at all, like it never happened. Someone jumped the gun and declared her dead which cut off her social security and Medicare. That left me with the bills. Just now getting that all straightened out. My 2nd gen suddenly crapped out, won't crank over. It goes into the shop Monday. Then the wife's car threw a CEL. Stuck open thermostat equals no heat. Figures, temperatures have been between mid-single digits to -20° not counting wind chills down to -35°. Once the truck is fixed then the car goes in. Speaking of cold, my septic tank has frozen up, and it will be a week before someone can get out here to thaw and pump. This deep sustained cold has affected a lot of people.

OMG, I am so sorry to hear this Cougar, and very glad that she is alright. It seems like these last few years you have been being tested a lot with things that are not good going on in your life but you seem to keep your head up and come out the other side ok. Prayers for you and you family that this gets resolved in a timely manner my friend.

Thanks nonrev, appreciate it. I was able to get the septic situation fixed. Paid an outrageous price and managed to get two different companies to line up and get it done. The plumbing company was here until midnight Thursday thawing the tank and sewer line, then the pumping company showed up at 9AM. God bless them. Poor people have been working around the clock.

Thanks Mexstan. Monday the old lady goes into the shop for a 90 day follow up and truck for troubleshooting. She is still running oaky for a late 40's grocery getter.

Well, one good thing. Looks like winter is finally losing its icy grip. With increasingly longer days, the temperatures are creeping up. Still low teens during the night, but that is a lot better than single or negative digits. Days are nudging closer to that magical freezing number. The high winds have also settled down some. Got the 2nd gen back with 2 new batteries. Hope these last a while. Car is scheduled in a couple weeks to get a new thermostat. Makes we sick I am unable to work on my own stuff anymore. Still fighting over the wife's medical bills. It's not Medicare, got them sorted out, it's the services I'm fighting. They don't want to submit their bills to insurance again.
