Wolverines right now. I like them, but I may go with redwings next, to try. Either way, they're both made in my back yard. I like the Danners and Timberlands I've had, but I'll support the locals when I can.

work around house: danner loggers
work om steel all day:danner loggers
out messing around: danner loggers
i work on iron all day and i do know how to turn around om beam with heels, the loggers are the toughest ive ever had. they lock into bar-joists real good, and feet dont get hot when im decking. had chiphurt-alls, burnt up in 6 months, red wings are good boot but im hard on them. have burnt up wolverines, like on fire with foot in them, until someone comes out with one better ill stay with a danner

I have a very high arch on both feet requiring athletic shoe type arch support which only Vasque offers from the factory.

Another vote for Danners, they're the most comfortable work boot I've tried and suprisingly waterproof as well.

Boots

I gave up on Redwings several years back. They had no solid arch support, made my feet hurt. I went to Wal-mart's Brahma, and Henson brands. The pain in both my feet and my wallet went away. Double H fit sloppy. I have one pair, but have to wear hunting socks with them. Recently got a pair of Georgia Boot Muddogs, they fit well and are good for mud etc. The best, most comfortable western, dress, dancing, sunday-go-to-meeting boots I have ever found are Tony Llamas. I bought mine in 1988.

Hunting I wear a pair of 1200 gram rockies when it is cold and all the other times I have a pair of the 800 gram danner all leather boots...Not to happy with them, for a $280 boot, the tred has come off, and some of the bobs have come off, and the pick up snow like crazy. I sent them back and they wont even put a new set of treads on them. In the summer I work in a pair of the bird hunting 200 gram danners, I've worn them for 3 years and they are dead, But I would buy another pair of them. Danner makes a good boot but they cost way to much. I wear a pair of Lacrosse 200 gram steel toe logger boots to school every day and couldn't love them more. I grabed them on ebay for 45 bucks and I am real happy with them. For hiking I've got a pair of custom made limmer boots, They weren't made for my feet but are darn close, very nice boots and to get your own pair they are about $600 and it takes 6 years for the to biuld them. It is a local company and they can be found cheep around here. You see them on ebay all the time, they are the ones with hooks all the way up. If I dont have a pair of boots on I am sleepin or skiing, I live in them. I dont even own a pair of sneakers. Gotta love them

I wear Danner Acadias at work (Firefighter) and Danner Super Rainforests for play and chores.

Whites packers are the best i have found. I have two pair and one of them is 16 years old. They have been rebuilt 6 or 7 times!

Has anyone ever worn "Chippewa" boots before? I like a few pairs that they have and was considering a pair... I checked out Danners as well, pricey!

I have redwing, but I think I am going to get Timberland next time seeing as how I just came across a promotional for their online store for 20% off and free shipping (PM for details).... It will give me a good enough price that I can give em away of use them for messy work if I really dont like em...
