What a beautiful symbol

As I was sweeping out the shop about 7:00 this evening a Bald Eagle flew by close enough to look it in the eye and plainly pick out the feathers down its neck. I just can't stand to see them in a cage in a zoo they need to represent freedom.

Me neither! Don't bother trying to sell, "it's their natural habitat" 'cause it ain't. Majestic is the word that fits them in the wild. Not nearly so in their unnatural habitat. Nat. Also Forgiven Too.

i didnt' know they cage eagles? in my neck of the woods they come to the river during the winter and have protected nesting sites, also if one is found lame or injured they get it back to healthy and release it in the wild, they certainly are one of gods beautiful, majestic birds and a symbol of freedom and strength

Sometimes captivity is a blessing. I caught one at my house that had broken its wing trying to dodge those stupid mocking birds that dive bomb them. Took it to Orlando where they had to amputate its wing. It is now in captivity, but living its life out, has mated with a female in similar situation and has lots of little ones (which have been released). They are gorgeous. Their eyes are piercing.

The only eagles I have ever seen caged are ones that have been injured so badly they cannot survive in the wild. Here in east Texas we don't get to see as many bald eagles as you guys farther north though we do occasionally see them around some lakes. I agree they are beautiful birds.

Right around Homer, AK they have a place where hundreds of them gather to eat the salmon in the spring.

We have a couple pair in the area. See them flying over the Muskegon River and Croton Backwaters now and then. Have seen them along the Pine and Manistee rivers as well.

I was spending an evening fishing on a lake near my home, with my brother in law. We saw a bald eagle fly across the lake and land in a tree. Got to spend some time looking at it through binoculars, magnificent bird!

It sure is nice to see them beginning to return to the area again
