Malfunction Indicator light \ engine symbol
Has anyone had this light come on their 07 6.7 liter dodge and system still shows ok.
Mine is on for the last 40 miles and the truck is running fine and I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and that if it finally went out.
Any help is appreciated...

i think you cycle your ignition like so...
on/off, on/off, on
and they should scroll across the odometer place or overhead, not sure since i dont have my truck yet but i believe that how its done!! ill see if i can find the thread i read it in.

I had this problem recently on my new 6.7 (about 4600 miles). I took it in to a Dodge dealer and he checked for codes and discovered that the EGR valve cooler was causing a problem, The cooler was replaced under warranty and so far the truck is fine. BTW, I tried the "cycle ignition key trick" to find the codes but it didn't work. The dealer's scan tool found it.

Well, I drove the truck for another 50 miles after the check engine light came on and it went away....
Called the dealer and he said the main problem that he has seen for OBDII problems has been the EGR sensor getting soot on it and it is just a matter of cleaning...
The problem I had went away with drive time...
Hope this helps and thanks for everyones replies....

2300ks, the same thing happened to me, Mine died or should I say blew black smoke like crazy until I pulled off to the side of the road. I got it towed to the nearest Dodge dealer, they told me the converter was plugged, due to the fuel I was using, I told them I use Esso low salfur, he told me I had to use ultra low salfur
Rig welder, from your sig I see you are located in Canada as well. Here all fuel sold is ULSD even if the pump says LSD. All the stations had to convert last fall, but there never was a requirement to change the sticker at the pump. Your dealer is misinformed if he thinks LSD is still available in Canada.

All fuel stations in Canada must sell ULSD (less than 15 ppm sulfur) as of Sep 1, 2006. In the US only 80% of the stations are required to sell ULSD with a phase in period where 20% can still be sold as LSD (less than 500ppm sulfur). So the fuel is safe for our trucks at any station in Canada but you have to be more careful in the US.

I had the light come on at 6000 miles for a EGR cooling valve as well. There is a TSB out for this valve sensor and it also involves a re-flash of the ECM. No warning on the overhead- just the MIL. After the re-flash I am getting about 2 mpg better on the fuel economy- hand calculated. It is TSB 18-033-07 that was accomplished for cod PO245A in case anyone is wondering. Truck never indicated anything was wrong other than the MIL.
On the Canada fuel thing everywhere is good except some places in the NW territories and the Yukon Territory. Those places have until 2008 to convert due to the remote nature. If you stick to the main roads like the Alaska highway in the Yukon you are fine.
Good to know about Canada having ULSD. This will be the sixth year i go up to Sask. to hunt waterfowl. I was starting to get a little worried about finding ULSD up there. Very good to know you guys are ahead of the ball on that. Props to Canada.

. If you have that feature then your going to throw that engine malfunction light.
