So soon, must have been a short month. Winter continues in the NW corner of the world. Currently 17°, a -2° wind chill, and more snow. Going to have to hire a snow plow to clear my driveway. The accumulation has been keeping the cats at bay. Went and measured the snow pack, average of 38" around my 1 acre paradise. Todays snow will add another inch or two after it settles. I have drifts that are around 6'. Scored some reloading supplies through a local gun friendly web site.
Well, sounds like you got something to do indoors, anyway. Warmer down here and all the snow is finally gone, except for one big push pile in the shade behind our office...good riddance. Drier weather thru the weekend, snow in the hills, which is where it belongs in my opinion.
MUD ... lots and lots of mud here at the homestead, mid 50s for most of the week with rain forecast for the weekend. I'm having a couple of loads of 1 1/2 crushed basalt delivered today to help alleviate some of the problem .. I get to put my new toy to work New 3033R
Nice, at least someone's winter is improving. 16°, 1° wind chill. Temp dropped to -7° before climbing to 24° yesterday. Then dropped to low single digits after sunset then warmed back up to the current. Caught 2 more cats, sisters of the other 2 caught earlier. Now the more challenging, mama. Might sell the Subaru today, we will see. That will reduce my insurance even more. Put the 01 in storage mode, I'm not driving it for now. Will put it up for sale also.
Getting milder down here, lower 50's during the days. River's up but snow levels around 3000' mean the valley's are seeing a lot of rain. Ski area is seeing a good, snowy March.
Nice tractor Nonrev, My dad can't live without his....
Hey, thought I'd give you'll an update on the stray cat situation. Mama and her 4 young ones have all been fixed and waiting placement into foster homes. The big orange tabby with the harness belongs to the neighbor behind us and the fuzz ball with the collar belong to my next door neighbor. I guess they liked the food better. That's about to end though. The food, shelter, water, and trap are being pulled out today. Hopefully no one will abandon any more for a while.
The cat rescue people asked me if I'd take Ms Kitty back. Mr Morris said NO! My internet service provider tried to pull a fast one on me, again. All of a sudden I get this NO INTERNET message. Called them and, oh, your wifi router failed. But we can sell you a new modem with wifi router included for $$$. Turns out there was nothing wrong with either my modem or wifi router. What they did was change my access password to try and make it look like my wifi router went dead when in fact they cut off my internet trying to "upsell" their service. BUSTED. I had to reset everything with the new password and it's working as before.
Well, it sounds like the cat situation is resolved....whenever we have internet trouble the guy shows up and tries to tell us the older systems are busy with traffic and he can hook us into one of the few remaining spots in the box down the street for a bit more money....they are all becoming car salesman anymore.....
5° and clear, may warm up to the 30°s again. Light snow for a few days starting tomorrow. DMV today for permanent senior registration then the tax people to finish my taxes. Looks like I'll be getting a little refund instead of a big bill. A big chunk of my unemployment has been exempted. My social security finally kicked in. I have income again. I have a few months before Medicare kicks in. Here is a picture of 2 of the cats. Ms Kitty is in front, one of her kittens "pixel" is with her. I hope they find good homes.
2' of snow in the last 24 hours. On top of what I already have, it's deep out there. Reserved the snow plow lady in advance, she will be here this morning. I need to get the snow off my sheds before one of them collapses.
After a week of early spring weather with a few days high temps reaching 60-65F, we are back to 25F with 2 inches of fresh snow covering the muddy, rutted up driveway.
