T minus 5, 4, 3, 2,.....abort mission....the crew just figured out that you cannot make snow ***** from sheet ice! Kinda nasty here. Have to be at work anyway...no matter what they say. Be careful and have a great day ...

Interesting commute this morning.
SUVs trying to run @ 40-50, mixed in with front-wheelers running @ 25-30, mixed with rear-wheel onlys running @ 10-15...........

Building maintenance workers downtown are pushing, blowing, sweeping snow off their sidewalks/driveways into the streets.
It's gonna be fun there when rush hour really kicks in.

Safe at work, thermos is full of hot coffee...............sure looks nasty out there......

Y'all be safe.

Well, I left the six wheeler in the car port this morning where it should be plugged in and drove the all wheel drive mini car. Never spun a wheel. Had to pass a bunch of goons running 10 MPH though.

Where the (insert favorite word here) is VDOT???? Some places were cleared real nice and others haven't had a thing done to them.

It is fun to watch the guys with 4X4's run into the ditch or guard rails.

Hopefully by the time it's time to go home things will be better. The normal 30 minute ride took almost 50.

Have a good day all........

there was an abandoned Ford minivan in a ditch this morning. It took me longer to get in my truck than it did to make the drive. doors frozen shut...etc. I was surprised how thick the ice was/is. We are going to get more a little later today....or so they say ...JKE

Hay Joel,

The beast is looking kind of ragged right now. More of a slushey brown on the lower parts and the top is still white (kind of hard to break thru the 1/4" or more of ice).

They plowed the parking lot at the office and all they did was turn it into one BIG sheet of ice. Stepped out of the truck and almost busted my ah... ... you know what.

If the temps get up to what they say, it should be a lot better this afternoon but then they say we may get more tonight. I may sneek out a little early so I can ride the bow wave of the go home traffic.

Fun and games......

Talking Still at home,,,,,,,,,

I'm sitting here at home drinking coffee and watching the news,,,, RATTLIN is under the carport with a nice little "milk mustache" on her nose where the snow blew under the carport a bit. I'm suppose to start the 4-12 shift today, so I hope the roads will be a little better by 3 when I leave.
Ya'll be careful today.

Anyone remember when cars had gutters over the doors.
I think they were designed to keep water out.
Water tends to turn hard when extremely cold.

If it isn't the ice holding the doors shut, its the seatfull of snow you get when you open them.
Whoever first designed the current style of vehicle doors needs to be taken out and

After shoveling the driveway twice yesterday, it finally stopped long enough for UDOT to get the roads cleared for the commute today.

Sure glad I head out to work at noon instead of 6am with the other individuals with unique driving styles.

Chance of yucky here tonight. Possible sight of snow to 6"
If the Dodge can't handle it, the tractor will.

You guys in the ice storms make me shudder. I remember them so well. You let out the clutch REALLY slow and the vehicle just sits there or slides sideways a little. Not fun. Yep, pass the sunscreen, PW. Just a little too warm. Lots of wind today - - storm coming in tonight. Wednesday high will just get into the 60's - - have to bring in the potted sensitive plants Wed night - - what a bummer. I guess that is better than ice on the poor Ghost. She would hemorrage right there she is so spoiled.

Have a good one.

SunBakedBob (hey PW, can you get my back, man - - can't reach it)

I would rather have a little ice than one of them "TWISTY-CLOUDS" turn my truck upside down or set the neighbor's garden shed on top of it!
