I do, however, recall being extremely cold on Lake Okeechobee (sp) with ice on the end of my browning.... duck hunting. shivering so hard the whole boat was shaking.....that was the coldest that I ever remember being in Florida.

When it is a little cool down here it does go right thru you. The humidity is typically so high you freeze your buns off. I will say hunting at 35 down here is nothing like what my Browning felt like in Minnesota at -41. Now that was cold - - - - and stupid for being out in it.

Went out for my morning smoke about a half hour ago, 3*F out with -5 windchill. I finally got around to putting my hydraulic snow blade on my Dixie Chooper yesterday. Unfortunately the idiot owner, me, left the blade in the drive for the past couple of weeks, and the hydraulics were not liking life.

Hopefully after sitting in the garage over night will help.

Stay warm, and remember the number one objective - Arrive Alive!

Morning.
More ice & snow last night on top of the ice & snow already on the roads.
Clowns are trying to drive 55-60 on the roads only to find out that there are slick spots.
The emergency services types are staying waaaay too busy due to inept drivers.
I told my daughter yesterday when she had to go out in the slop, "It's not always your driving you need to worry about, It's also all the other drivers that can screw up and take you out."
When she came home last night , she told be about a driver who tried to pass her, spun out, crossed the road in front of her, and crashed into a guardrail.

She avoided the mess 'cuz she was paying attention.

Slow down..........be careful

16 degrees and colder than an Alberta well diggers ****. The Big Red Dog almost told me to pack sand this morning when I cranked it.
Word of caution: In this weather, do not run outside to crank up the truck in your BVD's and flip-flops. Things get cold very fast.

Ok ... which one of you northerners sent me this cold ?? I lost my voice (my crew just loves that) and I'm hacking up some of the ugliest looking lung-pudding.

I think you guys are just jealous ... me and FiverBob are just living right.

Redleg,
Wow, what a string of bad luck. I am sorry to hear about your folks. I hope they get well soon. Bummer about getting stuck ... what made the front shaft fall off ??

Hope you all have a great day. I'll just sit here and whisper orders to a bunch of deaf petty officers ... should be good for a laugh

Goodmorning All. A balmy -42.9C (-45F) with "Partial Fog Depositing Ice" here this AM. They didn't even post the windchill at cbc.ca. It doesn't matter when it's this cold. You don't hear anybody saying, "It's not bad except for the wind". Anybody know of any mechanical design/drafting jobs in maybe Florida or Texas or Costa Rica or Aruba...........

Morning boys, got a lull in here at the moment. Snow's not coming down too bad anymore, but the salt hadn't been working yet and guess where all the SUV's are.

Truck is home, was able to get a little plowing done in 2wd. I'ts mostly my fault the shaft came off. I rebuilt the CV-joint and couldn't use lock-tite because it kept freezing up. I knew enough to drive it a while and retighten, and checked again before all the plowing. I had been out there all day though. By the way, the bolts that attach the CV to the transfer case are an unstocked, dealer only item. I called everybody in the book. Dealer should have them today, hopefully. Guess I'll put a space heater under the truck to get the locktite working.

Gonna head to the folks tonight and check on them. They were released yesterday.

Shovelhead....some good advice, you guys take it easy, my coffee/cocoa mix is getting cold.

Wow, sure glad someone finally came back on. Hardly anyone posted yesterday afternoon. I was afraid the whole bunch of them Nertherners had done freeeezed up. Glad to see the antifreeze worked.

Little chilly here today - - sun out, gorgeous blue skies, high going to reach the huge temp of 61. Man, no pool today. I might have to pull out a sweater - - - - Hmmmmm, I am not sure where I packed them.

Have a great day.

Mornin' men...

Hey Berner - there is a drafting job open 5 minutes down the road from me. Not sure of the pay. This ain't Florida, but it sure is better than where you are....temp wise anyway....

All clear here now. 25 this morning. 7 weeks till spring/summer....I am ready to get the garden going again. Greenhouse did not work due to the temps and cloud cover....then again, I may not know what I am doing ....

Have a great day.

I second the coffee comment...let me know if you find a good pot share. All I can do to hold my eyes open.....Sounds like Ed and I have similar schedules. I had a Lab last night. Didn't get to bed until 0000hours.
Like he said...more money later .

Everyone enjoy the day.

Smile Mornin Folks..........

Getting ready to head out to work shortly. Picked up my paycheck for the past week,,,,,, 40 regular hours worked,,,,,,, plus 40.7 hours over-time,,,,,,,,, plus 12 hours call-in pay = Uncle Sam getting more than I did! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Kinda makes a fella want to travel up to Ed's neck of the woods and go "POSTAL"!
Oh well,,,,,, I guess most comes back at the end of the year,,,,,,,,, it just hurts to see it taken right before your eyes.
Ya'll have a good one and ,,,,,,,,, don't let me catch anyone helping Ed or John with their homework!
