Going on the 2nd day of freezing rain. Trucks covered under an ice capped snow blanket. Is it spring yet?

Morning.
I loooove my garage.
Drove Wifey's 'cruiser again this morning, no scraping, quick warm up........The Beast is still sitting at home with blanket of snow covering it, sipping electrons thought it's AC/IV.
Is it Spring yet?

Freezing drizzle, calling for freezing rain around lunchtime.......tonight's rush hour oughta be a blast.

Y'all slow down and be careful out there.

mornin' men...sausage, egg and cheese bisquit was good....not as good as my wife's full on breakfast, but it will do. Had some sleet last night. Temp staying at 32. Ice is slowly melting. Bridges are slick.

Yall have a good day

Hey FiverBob - when I left Florida, I think I went a little too far north ...I sure miss your "winters". I do, however, recall being extremely cold on Lake Okeechobee (sp) with ice on the end of my browning.... duck hunting. shivering so hard the whole boat was shaking.....that was the coldest that I ever remember being in Florida.

Didn't want to start another weather thread. There's a -58.3C windchill this AM in sunny old Saskatchewan. Wish I had a digital camera to take a pic of what it looks like for all the sane people who don't live in this God-forsaken part of the world.

Hehehe ... you just gotta love blondes.

Our TV weather girl, Jackie Johnson, said that the "cold front that is moving in over the next couple days will be responsible for the cooler temperatures"

YA THINK ???

It's a good thing that she is built like a brick ... outhouse !!!

Plenty of dry ice out here this morning. Several less fortunate motor vehicle operators in the ditches.
Drove the AWD mini car this morning, left the big rig sit in the car port where it belongs. That way, I have an excuse not to pull them out of the ditches.

Mornin folks,
Well the "Little Blue Truck" made it home at midnight last night just fine,,,,,,,,,, a few slips and slides but I think that anti-slip rear of mine sure works good. I was going to put some cinderblocks in the bed, but didn't. On this ice junk,,,, the only thing that helps is a little common sense,,,,,,,,,,,,,, which seems to be lacking on some of the drivers out there.
I'll be headed back into work at 11:00 to do another 12 hour day, so I'll check back in after I get there. Ya'll have a good one!

Morning all, just getting back from the crudiest weekend in a looong time. Friday, took thestarter out of the truck, it was killing the battery. Saturday morning, getting ready to put the new one in (single digits outside), I get a call from my sister, myfolkswerein a bad crash. I called my brother who was at the scene. He said Dad hit some black ice, crossed the center, gotT-boned on mom's side. The truck caught on fire. Dad and one of the other drivers involved, pulled her out her window. The driver of the car that hit them had to get helicoptored. Florida next week is cancelled. They're both layed up and I have to go down and help them. Luckily, most injuries are some whiplash, and serious bruising, and twisted joints. Mom does have a broken Humorous. Anyway, after two days in the City, got back up north and put the starter in. Spent Monday plowing the road to the cabin. Front driveshaft vibrates free, I lose 4wd. Get the truck free from the berm I just made, and have a longhill to back up, that is needing a couple more passes with the plow. Start to slide sideways and I get sucked down the bank and catch a tree between the flat bed and the cab, which jams the cab corner into the door. So now I hike to the cabin for an axe and a couple shovels. I worked til dark to try to free it. Unsuccessful, I hiked back to a neighbor that lives closerto the mainroad and called Karen for a ride. Got back late. Now after work I have to go up and reinstall the driveshaft and finish some plowing. Hopefully the threads didn't get tweaked too bad. Neighbor is suppose to be bringing in a tractor today to get it back on the road. I was gonna try to leave early today, but they're calling for snow, well into the double digits. Careful out there......
