Alright all you week end slackers, drop your, er, ah, oops. Wrong forum.

Get your lazy, er ah, oops again.

Alright, just get up. You've got places to go people to see and things to do.

Coffee is gone already but the doughnuts are fresh. Oops, the fax machine is jammed (get it, jammed, jelly-jammed, never mind, thank you, I'll be here till noon, geez, I crack myself up )

Oh yeah, what Ed said too.

Re:Water Cooler Aug 31 - Sept 6

I can't believe no one is even stopping by to have a drank and visit. It's probably due to the fact that a certain government contractor in the DC area, that has to own two Harleys in order to keep one running, can't even keep the floor half way cleaned up. Beer cans and bottles everywhere, along with the oil puddles. At least when I have to spit, it's either in the corner or in an empty (most of the time) bottle. Guess I'll just have to get in the old red machine and make a little trip and just tidy this bunch up.
Looks like I'm safe for the next couple of weeks. Had to laugh tho, they got a guy with 35+ years in, no active duty other than AIT, never been to the field, never had to eat MRE's or C-rats. It seems that the headshed decided that those that never have and never intended to, get the first chance to show just how smart they are. The majority of them are lifer REMF's anyway, but I'm glad to see a bit of justice left in the world. Several went to see the IG. However, the entire IG section was amongst those selected. Gotta love it. Still looks like I'm gonna be doing a bunch of TDY/TAD. Oh well. Feed 'em fish heads.
It does look like I get to run a couple of hundred a day through the ranges for 20 couple a days.
Getting outa here for the night. Got a 0700 briefing right off the bat.

Shortround,
Don't sweat it, buddy. Let those that never did ... do it for a while. There seem to be a lot of people who made a career out of dodging "real military" jobs.
You, on the other hand have been there and done that and have plenty of t-shirts to show it.

I love it when someone finally holds these guys feet to the fire and when they fall on their sabres... That is when the respect level for guys like you really shines !!!

Have a cold adult beverage and enjoy the fireworks.

Re:Water Cooler Aug 31 - Sept 6

Mornin' everyone.

Another drizzly day in DC.

The NFL kick-off ceremonies are in downtown DC starting around 3:00pm, with several major streets closed to traffic.
Should make the evening rush hour a real treat. :

Got a job interview this evening,.... Part-time job.
Last time I had to interview for a job was in '81 .

Should be fun.

Have a great DTR day. 8)

You mean the pay and benefits package from being a DTR moderator isn't enough to let you keep modifying your truck without feeling a pinch in the pocketbook? ;D

Re:Water Cooler Aug 31 - Sept 6

Morning fellas,

Brought ham & cheese crescents (can't spell that silly french word anyhow) for everybody, but the ham got jammed in the fax machine. I'll try again after the fax fixer leaves.

Another warm sunny day in the land of the fruits and nuts. Looks like the northern half of the state is burning down, let's see if I get to sleep at home tonight. Might end up on TDY myself if I'm not careful. If it don't happen sometime today, I'm sure I'll be packing sometime tomorrow. Oh well, I'm ready for a road trip anyhow. Unfortunately, the parts of No. Cal that I'd like to see on fire are not burning......

Well, coffee's kicking in...

Good Morning everybody ;D

Did someone spike the coffee with NYQUIL or something ? This place has been pretty dead for a couple days.

I'm gettin ready to fire up the griddle and fix the younguns some bacon, eggs and we're even gonna try a batch of that scrapple that Shovelhead keeps braggin about.

Later in the day ... FRESH SHRIMP AND CORONA'S !!!

Those of you in mainland Florida, try to keep your heads above water ... nice weather, eh ?

Re:Water Cooler Aug 31 - Sept 6

If you could only believe this day :'(
It took from 0700 till 1400 to get 27 officers qualified on the 9mm.
One of them, a LTC/CDR/O-5 spent all morning long, with an instructor, to get a score of 96 (out of a possible 200). I took an E-7 that had never fired a handgun in his life, gave him 15 minutes of instruction and a couple of magazines of rounds for practice, and he shot a 143 which was good enough for sharpshooter.
My feet hurt. I must have walked 5 miles, in 75 ft increments, up and down the firing line telling them to keep the pointy end toward the target. :'(
It's time for three beers. One down each boot and the other down the throat.
And the news media can't understand why OFFICERS get fragged. ???
These guys were so screwed up they made hogans goat looked squared away.
