Hehe, Marco- When I drove home from a visit to bavarianram I took some pics-

This wasn't maxed out, but taking pics with one hand should make you drive civilized. You may add some km's for the fact that I'm running 255/85R16s without speedo compensation. (about 12-14% according to my GPS at speeds above 140km/hr)
I was running about 30psi and about 1000F EGT at this moment.
Marco, I think we should meet

Has anybody heard something about CATALONIA?

Hello friends. Today I want to introduce you some information about our culture. Spain is divided by provinces and as all countries, every provinces have their cultures, dialects and even languages

I live in a spanish province named "Catalunya" (Catalonia). Catalan's culture is a little bit different from spanish one, here we speak two languages as well: "español" and "català" (spanish and catalan).
some of that differences are that we do not dance "sevillanas", "flamenco" an a lot of "tipical spanish" topics everybody can imagine. We do not like bull warriors ("toreros") and we have our own tradition (we dance and play a music called "sardanes")
Some days ago I gave translation about trucks and things like that. Today I will give catalan ones. catalan is a latin language and have some ressembles about other latin languages (french, spanish, italian...). Here you are!

Truck: (spanish: camión - catalan: camió)
exhaust pipe (spanis: tubo de escape - catalan: tub d'escapament)
tires (spanish: ruedas - catalan: rodes)
My name: Jordi, is catalan. It have it's own translation in english (George) and spanish (Jorge).

well, I do not know if those interests you. But if you ask, I can give all translation you want (even names of persons).

AlpineRAM - You are right, I won't buy the first offer I see, but now I'm happy about knowing some prices. 12000 euros is not too bad, still I have much time to decide. Repainting a truck sounds expensive or I will have to learn mechanical when I buy it (my brother can teach me), spend time restoring and modifying a car must be part of the fun.
I have seen your travel pictures of your visit, they are nice. How is driving at austrian roads? (Here at spain drivers are crazy!)

JKE - I'm betting nobody but my brother does. Which one will you consider will win? So just ask at gas gas dealer and they will tell that is a good catalan trademark. My brother says that will give me some pics to upload. I will take too some pictures of Toni Elias' shop.

I must apologize cos I know nothing about bikes, all time I have to ask to my brother. I must investigate a little more about this subject.

Now calculating...

Fins aviat amics!!!

Hello Jordi, Here's a big HOWDY from Texas. Too bad you can not come here for a holiday. The amount of pick-up trucks in our state is incredible. You can not drive in traffic here without being in a pack of pick-up trucks, they outnumber cars. The Dodge CTD is gaining a quick stronghold on the diesel truck market here. I have owned all major manufacturers trucks in the past and have found that the Ram with the Cummins is by far more a superior vehicle, (over gassers).

Since you are still in college with tight financial means, maybe you should be searching for a nice 12V Cummins. These trucks are just as stout as the 24V and are much easier, and cheaper, to modify to achieve AlpineRam's European lack of air standards (more horsepower). You need to keep in mind that these Cummins engines are notorious for lasting 400-500K kilometers, and the 12V are somewhat more mechanically easier to work on.

Take care and Welcome to "The Site"!!!

Jordi,

VAT is the sales tax, in Italian it's: imposta valore aggiunto, in German: Mehrwertsteuer. Them German guys use some really looong words!

If you're going to buy a Dodge truck, I'd advise you to stay away from the automatic tranny. Only very few people here are aware that it needs a regular maintenance. Fixing the tranny here will become very expensive....

We've been for vacation to Barcelona a few years back. Sure your
Catalunya language is very similar to Italian. If I speek in our local dialect, most people understand me...That's without knowing a word (almost) in Spanish....

AlpineRam,
Yup, I've had similar pics. My HD crashed a while back and lost all the pics. Oh well....

Last time I went to Holland I drove through Germany by night. I was in a hurry.... did 900 Kilometers in 5 hours and a few minutes. That was with a quick stop for fuel and a coffee. Do your math for the AVG speed...

BTW. I have 33 inch tires on my truck. Top speed per GPS is 215 Km/h.

Speaking about meeting. S..t I've completly forgotten that Rob is with his sons here on the Garda lake. I've told him that I would've met him.... OHHHHHHHHH..

I'll have to see if I got his handy# somewhere ....

Marco

Hello again

Some friends tell me I'm mad buying a truck. And they have some reasons. Is really difficult driving a huge pick up in Manresa (my town) and not easy parking it. But they do not understand the fun. The day I get one I will want to see their surprised faces . And then they will ask me to join at all trips I'll do with it (Sure).

I have seen that some Dodge owners make Dyno, truck pulling and Drag races with them. Some years ago I liked tractor pulling but was hard to me seeing this sport (here is hard to find), and maybe some places somebody practice Drag race (but normally are illegal), I used to think that is Typical american. But, what is exactly Dyno? When I see the pictures I do not know the datas is given. Can somebody explain what is Dyno for and tell me how to understand and translate those numbers? I apologize about my ignorance!
Do you like to know something about spanish trucks? I'm trying to get the best truck I can find at my town and make it pictures (ford, nissan, mitsubishi trademarks), is stupid for me thinking in comparasions (cos I think they are extremly smaller).

scuzman00: Somebody told me something about the amount of trucks can be finded in Texas, but surely I would become ecstatic seeing such trucks. Last day I spoked about ambitions (and dreams), as a Dodge Ram lover my dream is to travel at Unite States. So I ask you to show and recommend about which states I can visit. Add to my hollyday's list: go to Texas and see trucks and more trucks.

You are true telling me Dodge is the best truck trademark. I like ford pick-ups to but I think dodge are better. I could never imagine that exist a Dodge ram with a dodge viper's motor 500Cv!!! For instance, the fastest SEAT's car is SEAT LEON CUPRA R, with only 225Cv, I have to talk with SEAT's responsibles!! which is this Dodge Ram model's name?
Being an student at my age is a little expensive for me (the career costs me a lot of euros every year, Sure I would be able to buy a good Cummins with all the money I have spended with), but I hope that when I finish I will get a good job, so getting a good Truck will be easier.
Still I do not know when I will be able to get one, but 12V Cummins is sufficient for being my first truck. I am convincing my brothers to get a Dodge Ram for us (they love 4x4 much more than me). My brother told me that american dodges can endure much more kilomiters than european's car (I never thought that a car could move after 150.000 km) Thank you for your help.

Marco - You'd not have to drive so fast (or you will have to pay a lot of fines!) But somebody told me that german superhighways have no speed limit.
Now I know what is Vat. In spanish we say it is "Impuesto de ventas" and catalan "impost de ventes". German's name is the coolest one . I will search Spain's %.
I prefer driving with manual tranny (my parent's car have automatic one), and even is harder to mantain I will try to get a manual one.
About languages, I know that in some region of Italy people speak catalan. I guess that's because some centuries ago catalan coexisted with occitan language, and if I am not wrong occitan arrived at Italy. Occitan and catalan seems a lot now.
Which part of Italy you are? I will investigate about it.
And if you come back to Catalonia someday and meet, it will be easier for us to comunicate . Did you like Barcelona?

That's all for today.

Adeu siau!!!

Hi people! How it is going today?

From this friday to the next monday spanishes do not have to work or go to school, so today I make good use of studiing (and even make nothing!!!)

My best friends gone to french this 4 days holidays. They have rented a 9 passengers Van. I would liked to go but there are college and money reasons for not going. I have promised them to go next day.

I had revised something I sayed about the word "truck" translation in Spanish and Catalan. We use the word truck (Camión, camió) to refer at the Biggest ones (mean lorryes and Trailers). And I remember that for pick-ups we use too the word "camioneta" (the same in my two languages). Is like saying "little-truck".

This sunday we will celebrate "La Pascua". Here we buy an special cake with a chocolate figure on it (normaly for famous characters from TV cartoons), and give them to our family childs we have ben godfather when they have borned. The most famous chocolate figure is an egg. I say that because I think you celebrate something similar with painted eggs and a rabbit, isn't it? Will you explain me exactly what you do?

Those sounds me. At least is cheaper than our tradition. The cake we have to buy usually costs between 30-45 euros. An then comes the presents we buy to children.
