bulthisl-Eddie. Now it's 2:41 night at Spain and I'm going to bed. I'm studiing all about prevention, safety and security, at my college have subjects about firefight and prevention. Sometimes we receive professional Firefighters and some of my classmates have this job.
And 15 years against fires is a lot of time.
So we make a deal. I'll explain everything you want about my country and you tell me everything about your job and farm-life.
In spain we have not much farmers. That could be the reason about we do not have much pick ups!

Jordi, I liked the pictures, but they just do not fit in with a family oriented site like ours. We hav

Jordi when you go to buy your truck let me know. I will help you in any way I can maybe buy one from here and have it shipped to you. the EURO is pretty strong against the american dollar right now so your 15000 Euro might be 18000-20000 american dollars which after shipping could get you a pretty reasonable Dodge with cummins turbo diesel.I may be coming to germany this june to see my cousin in the air force.

Welcome Jordi, But first, MEXSTAN, I resemble one of your remarks, I don't talk funny, everyone up north does. Second, Jordi, you may want to put on your boots when logged on here, some times the BS gets really deep. If you where to purchase a truck here and ship it back, wouldn't customs taxes and duties be very high, I found a retored Ford Mustang for a friend on mine in Brazil, and after he checked with the local gov, the duties and taxes would be 4 times what he have to pay for the car, shipping charges was almost nothing, but the cost of having the truck prepared for shipping may be high also. On all of our incoming and out going shipments, we use Expeditors International. And last, Mexstan, how's the electricity been holding up, staying on pretty regular, I could contact the Vera Cruz plant and ask for a "small" disruption to your area

Hemi Dart: I only saw some pictures at newspapers and magazines. But during three days I could see hundreds of images and reports at all national and local channels of spanish TV.
It takes more than 10 hours going by car from my city to Madrid (the capital of Spain and place were happened the crime). I could take a flight but I think that is too morbid to take an airplane only for see the catastrophe.
Besides, I know nobody from Madrid, only a classmate who have a friend who was at Atocha's railway station and only a few meters near the bombed train, he got hurt but nothing important, I supose he saw eveything but do not want to ask him or know more details about it.

PumpDaddy: I didn't realise that taxes of shipping a car was so expensive! I do not know Unite States prices but buying a new Dodge Ram in Spain costs 60.000 euros!!!! part of the cause must be from that taxes. That's why I got so surprised this saturday morning when I saw a 18 years old boy driving a brand-new Dodge Ram!!!

Truck prices in Euro

Jordi,

Importing any kind of vehicle from the States into the EU is a major problem.

I know prices over there are very very cheap if compared to what we pay here for cars/trucks, but you need to consider a few things.

Shipping isn't too bad. In a container it will cost you about 1500 US$. Ro-Ro that is road to road on a ship from NY to Roterdam is about 800 bucks.

Once the vehicle is in the EU ( Spain for that matter) you will have to pay import taxes which are in most countries in the EU a 10%
then the VAT which is in Spain ??? , here in Italy it's 20%. Then the storage at the customs, the import fees for all the paper work and and and.....

I've bought a complete tranny from DTT a couple month back. It was about 4800 US$ over there. Well to make a long story short, in all it has cost me over 8000 Euro deliverd at my home....
Do your math...

OK now your truck is @ your home in Spain. Nice toy, you'll need to register it in order to drive it on the roads. Here is where the real problems start! The European Union has such tight laws about emissions that it's very difficult to register an Vehicle from outside the EU. For a new vehicle that paper work is about 5K Euro. For a used vehicle form the States.... well it's almost impossible to get the registration here...

With the budget you mention I'd not think about it.

Probably my point is you need much more money than what you think to own an American truck here in the EU.

You could try to find a used truck that's already registered in any state of the EU, that makes the registration much easyer.

Oh, yeah, technical language the exhaust is "tubo di scappamento" in Italiano but is usually simply referred to as "scarico".

Last one. As far as I know Leo is one of the places with the lowest prices for trucks here in Europe.

Jordi - I knew of Toni's father. My father was interested in outdoor motocross way back. I grew up around it.

You call it FIM World Championship Roadrace Series! ON May 2nd, the second round of racing is in Jerez, Spain. Valentino Rossi is one fast kid. Watchout for those pesky Americans though. Nicky Hayden and Kenny Roberts Jr. Max Biaggi is quick too. Heck, they are ALL FAST! I love this stuff.....

Now, if you buy an older truck and it is very clean, no dents, and nice paint, we call that a NICE truck. We appreciate a vehicle that has been maintained and kept clean no matter how old it is!

If you buy a beater and you have almost no farms there, then we would call that .....well,.... a POS.

If you spend the money, get a NICE truck!

Have a great day.

Oh Yeah, do NOT get consumed by this web site. Stay focussed on the studies! - JKE

Hi people!

Thank you all again for writting me. And for your advices and helps. Forgive me too for my limitated english, but reading your messages sure will help me to improve! I had no idea I could receive such answers from. I had given up buying someday a Dodge Ram since I saw how expensive and dificult was it last year, but I think that what moves everybody is dreams and ambitions, and think that fight for geting my car dream is one of my ambitions from now. EXPENSIVE AND DIFICULT, yep it’s true, but without dificulties there’s no fun a our lifes, doesn’t it?

Marco: Now I know that Italians and Austrians have Dodge cummins, and that takes near of my dream (if they can I can, or something like that).
I see, shipping and taxes rise de prices of exportations, and you are trae, I didn’t expect that all that was so important. Can you tell my what is VAT? I will ask a friend who is studiing livestock (Hacienda) which is Spain’s.
I have found an interesting website http://es.mobile.de. There You can buy “european” dodge Ram with competitive prices. The dream is getting closer!
Thank you for the link you have put is as interesting as mobile.de.

JKE: My brother is an enduro racer and drives a gas gas 250CC (an spanish-catalan trademark), he says you know a lot about bikes, he says that the past weekend made some motorbike training, Sete Givernau (Spanish-catalan) only got 3rd this course, near of Rossy, but he says that Sete will eat other racers (my brother is fan of Toni Elias and Sete Givernau). Toni Elias is friend of my brother (cos we are neighbours).
You are true, this website makes me lose a lo of time!!! Don’t mind, I’m going to study for my nex week exam (enginiery, hate mathematics and trigonometry!!!)

AlpineRAM: At the page mobile.de I have found a 6900 euros dodge ram. My brother like this truck (not such as me ), he say we both could buy a “toy” for fun

Jordi, nice to hear that you are looking around. I've been looking at this vehicle:
http://mobile.de/SIDsC1jCo8hkUpYSEIk...1111134501834&
The seller doesn't know too much about it- no build date, (not even year) no horsepower, and there's no RAM 1500 Diesel as far as I know- the picture shows a 2500 before 97.
Yoou should have to call to find out more.
This 95 here looks a bit better:
http://mobile.de/SIDYd6IDt7HoaCoMsUr...830278&top=33&
The pickup bed can be swapped with the stock bed, you'd need to repaint it IMHO it doesn't look too good. This truck is advertised for 12000€.
I'd say that if you look around and don't jump on the first available vehicle you can buy a good second hand 12V for less than 15000 euro. The very big advantage compared to a new small car is that the new car will lose 50% in the first two years- the used ram will lose about 5-10% per year.
