I lived in Broomfield while I worked in Boulder. Once I was done for the day, I wanted to get as far away from there as possible. Since I could walk, I remember the jokes about Aspen and Boulder. It's true when they say that both Aspen and Boulder could fall off the face of the earth and rest of the state would cheer. Sorry, not trying to be mean.

I find it funny how people in Colorado always make fun of Boulder, and say how expensive it is (it is expensive) and how everyone would cheer if it wasn't there. Here is one thing to look at though, it is expensive but that is because it is a desirable place to live and people want to live here. I think everyone in Colorado doesn't like Boulder because they are jealous. Iam just trying to say it is expensive for a reason. Man Iam starting to sound like one of the whackos from Boulder

Funny, I'm actually in Broomfield right now on business. Just got back from touring through Boulder. After seeing the city/town and surrounding areas, I would much rather live in Lousiville or Broomfield. These "Colorado springs" are killer though. One day golfing weather, next day...snow.
OK, so who's been to the Darkhorse?

If you're talking about the bar, I have been there. The place has GREAT burgers in my opinion. Also, I don't know if it's still there but there used to be a Mexican place called Zteca there. I used to love that place. We'd always go there for lunch on work days.

I'm just joking around by the way. I do like Boulder. I wouldn't live there but it really wasn't that bad. It IS a really nice place to look at.

For the person who was talking about Broomfield, I used to live right by the Jeffco airport there on Wadsworth Blvd. I think it was around 110th and Wads or so. I was on the South side of 36.

Rare 1, I seriously hope you don't think CU is a bad school.

I've lived the better part of my life in Colorado and my advice for someone that has DoD experience is look at Colorado Springs. There's the Air Force Academy, NORAD/Cheyenne Mtn. AFB, Peterson AFB, Scriever AFB, and Fort Carson Army Base. Plenty of contractors in town. Lockheed and ITT to name a couple...

Co Spgs is a pretty decent location also. Doesn't take too terribly long to get anywhere from there... Plus you get to look at Pikes Peak every day.

What was the saying about California and Boulder??

Actually the reason it's so expensive it that the elitists that ran the city decided years ago to restrict growth and the type of development that would be allowed there. That's why all of the growth is in the surrounding areas. Remember Boulder is 34 square miles surrounded by reality. BTW, I was born and lived in Colorado for 45 of my 51 years.

I am not a fan of Boulder at all. I just dont think the town has anything better to offer than anywhere else in CO.

oh and CU by far has the worst football fans in the nation.

Fort Collins is the place to be...#1 in the nation! Plus there are more diesels and fewer hippies

Not to hijack the thread but I too live in a college town that is really trying to hide under the guise that its leftist. The chicken savers were out in front of KFC the other day, what a great way to increase business for KFC, just to stir things up I got in line for a "snacker". It was soft and delicious and I knew I wouldn't have to worry about getting a beak in my food! I wish these people would get off the corner and go volunteer their time at the senior center or something. That would be more fulfilling than saving chickens in my opinion!

For DOD work, as mentioned, Colorado Springs is the best bet.
If you're looking around Denver, Evergreen and COnifer are very nice (expensive) and close to Denver. A little farther out is Bailey, where I lived for 2 years and absolutely loved it. Very mountainous/rugged, yet close to amenities.

[QUOTE=JORDAN;1481561]Boulder isn't that bad, I work at CU. But I live in longmont.

Ditto that....But I can't wait for the end of the day to leave this town.
I grew up in Lafayette, and for those who say that it's cheaper to live in the surrounding towns, think again, the Boulder prices are pushing eastward in the county

Boulder High School tells kids to have sex, experiment with same sex, and take drugs.

That is not true I went to Boulder High School and it wasn't a teacher that said that. They host an event every called World Conference affiars or something like that and they have panels of people and discuss differnet topics, and someone in the panel said that.
