I missed the dreaded breast incident only because I couldn't stand that little dink with OUR flag draped around him.

I know that our country and its freedoms are so ultimately precious. Some of our parents/grandparents. brothers, and sisters have fought for that freedom. It makes my blood boil every time I go to a sporting event and fans young and old are not paying any attention to the "symbol" of our freedom.

And yet, isn't that ability or right to express ourselves exactly what this country is all about? So, while I thought the flag shirt was disgusting and made me walk away, I love this country and the freedom that comes with it.

Please don't take this wrong......but because we live in countries that ALLOW us to voice our opinions, religious beliefs, etc. THAT is the true meaning of freedom, and we must take the good and the bad.

Very good post.

Of course, we must also remember that with our freedom comes laws that we must abide by. Exposing yourself in public is against the law. TECHNICALLY, she may not have been fully exposed because of the little nipple ring thing. She was close enough though, and in my opinion there should be consequences.

Amen Hoss, I get as wound up as everybody, just have to stop sometimes and think about the other side of the coin, much as I despise it.

Two things always rang my wife’s father’s bell; Taps and punk kids defacing the flag. This past August we buried him with a 21-gun salute. He was a WWII vet. He lost buddies, lots of them at Pearl Harbor and I would give anything to hear his stories again. It’s refreshing to hear younger folk on this forum who do not want to deface our flag and burn our weapons. Freedom is not free. Never has been. Last year we had 5 flags get stolen from the pole at the end of our driveway to discover it was youngsters looking for flags to burn. Love them or hate them they have the right to express their opinion because men like Dad would rather fight (and die if they had too) than to give up any part of our freedoms.

Yep, when I grew up I heard my father say: "It's a TELEVISION, not a parent"

We could have afforded a TV set, but my parents decided not to have one, better spend the money on books, museums, travel and other forms of education.
A disturbing trend over here is that lots of parents turn on the TV during dinner to keep the kids quiet, maybe also because they don't take any interest in what the kids would have to talk about with them.
I spent a lot of quality time with my dad and learned loads of tech stuff from him. And I learned some other things too, but those would be a little long to describe. My dad died when I was 15.
But I did inherit a lot of knowledge, philosophy and love from him. Now I do value this much more than even the biggest TV that he could have bought.

I think your father was a very wise man. After having moved lately, and not having a chance to get cable hooked up, I find it amazing how much I get done without the idiot box distracting me. I have even read a few books which is something I havent done in a while. I may leave the cable unhooked for a little while even though I just got a new bigscreen for Christmas. Its been good for me.

I was watching when it happened, and you know, I thought I was imagining things. I watched the first half in high def but since the half-time show is always just lame, I went down to the kitchen to take the dog out and eat some dinner. So I'm eating my chili and watching on the 9" tv with a fuzzy picture (no cable on that set) and thought I saw exactly what everyone's talking about. Then no one on the broadcast said anything about it at all afterwards, so I decided that either I was flat-out dreaming or it was some sort of special effect or something. Of course, their whole routine was kind of raunchy, anyway.

Wow, this thread sure took off in a hurry and I only get to post on page four.

I must say I am proud to be a participant in this website. There are a bunch of good guys on here (well, you have to watch that Hoss guy) with good morals, good mature attitudes and value systems that carry some weight. Thanks for getting this one off the ground, Hoss.

I too agree with most contributors here. The half time was lousy. We are losing our sense of morality, decency and recognition of our roots. ABC is one of the worst of the major nets in promoting the devaluation of family values and morality. They are jamming deviate life styles down our throats hoping to make us become desensitized to the values they are promoting. When we do, they have won. Even the soaps have lousy language and teach total infidelity.

Oh wow, am I on a soapbox. Anyway, thanks guys for helping me know I am not the only "weird" person left in the great USA who still appreciates clean language, morality, family values and my country. God bless America. Let's all stand up and be heard this fall when it comes time to vote.

Has the right to freedom of speech and expression become more important than the right to raise our children with basic morels and values? It would seem that there are few or no preograms that are decent to watch with our young people. There were no dis-claimers that the content of the superbowl should be unsuitable for children. As these incedents continue to happen then they just become common place for the next gen. I get beside myself trying to understand it all. I am no prude by a long stretch but I try to set an example for our replacements (CHILDREN) When we condone these types of exibitions then we are saying that in the future this is acceptable. For those of us raised in the 50's life was much better and values were much better defined. well I guess I have prolly said more than I should But6 man isn't the superbowl about football.

That's what I've been trying to tell you guys... The show was a joke....I missed the skin incident since I refused to watch any more after that one guy ...Nelly?..couldn't quite grabbing himself (must of had too much to drink before the show) and the way Kid Wuss was treating the flag. I am sorry that we have to attempt to explain this deviout behavior to all the kids and others who accidentally witnessed it. Saddened, dismayed, shocked...but not surprised.

It should have been called the Toilet Bowl 1/2 time show.

Sludge like Miss Jacko's exposing herself really gets my goat. Why do we have to allow this sort of garbage pumped into our Living Rooms during the halftime show?

As a country, we are exhibiting all the early signs of a Civilization in decline. Who will stand up for the America my Stepdad fought for as a Marine on Guadacanal?
Who will stand up for the America I served as an Army Sgt. in 1970-71? Who will stand up for our kids, who are beginning to think & behave sexually at earlier and earlier ages, thanks to garbage like the Super Bowl halftime show?

I'm a member of One Million Dads. I urge all of you to join and Make a Difference!

Fiver, as I tell my wife, these ain't nothing but daytime porno movies, they jiggle and they wiggle, but they are just dancing ****** with a thin shirt own, ain't a one of them ever wear a bra. Don't anyone get me wrong, I appreciate a good looking woman just as much as the next man, and yes, I've got my head slapped for "looking" too much, but public TV is getting to extreme, the channels are targeting the younger kids and it's hard to find a decent, clean and enjoyable show to watch. If I wanna see T&A we go to bed early I was picking up some parts at the sandblaster this morning, when I walked in, there was 2 guys, the owner and his wife discussing Ms. Jacko, after a few minutes 1 of the guys pulled out a close up picture of IT, his wife looked at it, laughed, and said, Hell, I'm 48 years old and mine don't sag that much

The "flash" last Sunday ( and that's all it really was) is only a small part of a big problem. We're witnessing the slow decay and destruction of American as well as "western" society. The violence and just general debauchery shown on TV and heard in today's music is slowly pulling us down into the mire. I feel sorry and fear for my children, especially my upcoming grandchild. Fortunately for me, I believe the delicne is slow enough that I won't be around to see us hit rock bottom. I wish the Feds put as much effort into the missing WMD's as they're on this.........

Counting down to the long dirt nap....Commatoze out on this thread
