Jack,
The "violator" was Tased for no good reason.

Just because someone has a badge doesn't mean they can just do what ever they want when they want (hello god complex) and not expect to be held accountable. The LEO in question has a RESPONSIBILITY to keep cool under diverse situations and handle them in an adult matter. The cop in the video is
a complete joke....

Cops are no better than regular citizens. Last time I checked this was still America and we are all equal right?

Cry me a river with the police have no rights routine....They hold all the cards even when they are clearly in the wrong (like this situation).

Yeah forget the constitution right? We have case law......Founding fathers...huh, what did they know?

Jack,
We'll never agree on this subject and thats ok with me.
I just ask that you do look at subjects like this with an open mind and not just that of a law enforcement officer.

I have always had a great deal of respect for the job that LEO's perform on a daily basis.

I just call things like I see them.

I know several Indiana State Police officers and one I consider a long time friend and the other is my former Father Inlaw, their level of professionalism makes this guy look like Barney Fife.

Ok I want to hear what you guys have to say about this, this story happened to me and my family and I am not exagerating. When I was 18 yrs old I was driving home around 11pm and was pulled over because I had blue marker lights. My dad and mom where also coming home and happened to turn down the same street where I was pulled over, my dad saw me pulled over and as a concerned parent pulled over about 150ft behind the squard car he got out and started to aproach the officer, I did not know he was there. The officer got out of his car when my dad was about 20ft from him my dad asked him what had happened in a calm voice the officer than became very angry and asked him to go back to his car my dad stopped and said that is my son the officer than mased him. Than my mother steps out of the car and asks the officer why he did that she was still 150 ft back the officer start to run at her, I know see this goin on and get out and back in, when the officer reaches her he throws her to the sidewalk bloodies her chin and does that wonderful cop move where they put there knee in the back of her head cuffs her. Well now I am fairly upset I started yellin at him from my car so by this time 3 other cops show up and they all drag me from my car throw me to the ground and like a big happy family we are all there cuffed. They ended up letting me and my mom go after the firemen fixed her chin and they took my dad to jail.

So, what do you suppose these two learned? Will either act differently next time? Will the accused smarten up & listen? Perhaps decide flight (with a ticket in hand) over fight and take it to the judge?
Will the Officer perhaps choose to handle things differently...maybe remember he has a camera on?
I cant imagine whats running through the mind of someone..accused of a simple traffic infringement, to act like a moron..regardless of the cops attitude. Being a knucklehead surely isnt going to help you avoid the ticket.

Here in Jersey- If a member of the Triangle Gang has you on the side of the road..its hands at 10 & 2. When he asks for the paperwork..you ask for permission to remove your hands from the wheel and slowly open the glove box. Then you ask for permission to reach for your wallet. You act civil, and treat like you want to be treated.
There is a darn good chance you will both drive away with feelings unhurt, attitudes in check. Read: no ticket.

If for one second, anyone thinks that behaving the way Mr. Minivan did is going to help the situation....suffice it to say they're nuts.
Now thats life in these parts.....
Yall be safe out there....its a Jungle.

there are alot of nuts out there and working at a bar in baltimore really opens your eyes to how many there are. being a cop, you cant give anyone the benifit of a doubt that they are a good person because i have seen everything from a 16 year old trying to beat up a bodybuilder of a city cop to a pregnant woman trying to take out bouncers with her high heel in hand. dont even let me start on what a seemingly normal person can do when they are jacked up on PCP. i dont blame cops for being over reactive sometimes because i (and most other people) have not seen what they have seen and everytime i get pulled over it is yes sir, no sir without any sudden movements no matter how mad i am. if a cop wants to put me in cuffs, so be it, because if i resist there is no doubt in my mind that a cop deep down inside would love to use multiple tools from his belt of torture to beat me, shock me, and whatever else he wants to do to get me to comply... i'd rather take the easy road, but thats just me.

you guys, that are supporting the LEO need to slow down and think a bit, look at the car, look at the kids, look at the wife, do you see signs of drugs/ of abuse? of any sort of mental health, WEIGH the situation, and realize that maybe just maybe he is unaware of the situation he is in . He is thinking about getting his kids to dance class, baseball, etc and he is running late. He missed the sign and was speeding by mistake(pretty hard to do 40mph after 60+mph) you foot actually will creep up on the gas pedal( it happens) Ok pull him over give hime a ticket speak to him a bit like a human being. If he dosen't sign so what! send him on his way and make a note of it on his ticket and let the judge handle it!. You just ran a check on the guy you know he isn't wanted by the law for anything, He is not violent offender PUT yourself in his shoes. You have a badge and a responsiblity to consider all people INNOCENT untill they are proven guilty in a cout of law. Don't tell me some redderick of guns are more dangerous and that the taser use was justified, because the cop was a clown and DID not do his job corectly by allowing that situation to escalate to that. Those kids and mother will have a strong dislike for you people who represent our law enforcement (which doens't help your public image either). Stop having the US against Them atitude and start realizing that we people make mistakes and we aren't all drug dealers and criminals. BTW thanks for pulling him over for speeding, now educate him not taser him.

Great work! cops should be proud of themselves, AN the whole lot of them fired!. Sounds like you need to be more worried of the cops more than criminals in the states.

Keep in mind ..... all this AFTER they ran a check on the vehicle lic plate!

Well I developed a bit of an attitude when it came to cops after that and had a few more runins with them I also refused to sign a ticket one time. There was another cop when I was in high school that gave me 6 tint tickets he would wait until school was out and pull me over I was going to take it off but it got to the point that i left it there just make him mad. I ended up getting pulled over by him about a year later and I actually ripped the tint off right there in front of him it was funny because he really wanted to give me a ticket but couldent after that. That same cop was shot and killed 10 days later he was givin some gang member a hassle over something and he was shot that obviously was very sad he had a young family.

This one has lost all credibility at this point.

Lets face it, those of us that understand the incredible job these LE Officers do day after day are always going to feel one way and those of you that taunt officers over something silly like window tint, will simply NEVER get it.

This one is as done as the thanksgiving bird..

Incorrect. He tased him because the guy was not doing what he told him to do. If I tell you to put your hands behind your back and you reach into your pockets, it's on, period. You're not going to like the response. The Trooper gave him a LAWFUL order to put his hands behind his back. The driver failed to comply. Failure to comply equals TASE.

Just because someone has a badge doesn't mean they can just do what ever they want when they want (hello god complex) and not expect to be held accountable.
I don't agree with the Trooper's attitude, and I have explained this multiple times. However, he was well within his rights to do what he did. You THINK you know the law, but by your comments it's obvious that you don't or you wouldn't even be trying to argue the point that you're trying to make. He wasn't doing what he wanted when he wanted. He was attempted to take someone into custody whom he'd just arrested, someone who was resisting arrest by not following lawful orders of the Trooper, one who put his hands in his pockets and was returning to his vehicle!!! HUGE NO NO!!!!! You do not EVER do that unless you want to find yourself face down on the pavement, tased or hurt because we don't know if you're going for a weapon or something else.

You obviously need to take some time and go ride with an officer somewhere for a few days. Come back and talk to me then. Until that time, you have no credibility with me.

In addition, I suggest some read this article. It might shed some light.
