That's not even the rest of the story.

Next 3 pics in the series are of the green crane tipping over and going into the drink.

Had an email that had the whole rescue debacle.

(didn't save it though, dang)

Outriggers weren't used on the first truck. They relied entirely on that truck's suspension to handle the weight and load. Amazing how those things work......

No, I digress.

I had the email resent to me so I could post them here,
took a closer look at the last picture, and it was faked.

The green one did not go into the water.

Pretty good fake though, had me going for a while.

I'll try to post the last couple.

Ok

Here's the pics that were in the email.

Here's a pic from earlier in the series.

Notice the red car in the background.
Notice when the green crane gets there, a black van is blocking it during the whole time the green crane is lifting.

Notice in the shot where the green crane gets wet, the black van is suddenly gone.

Compare that shot with the pic from earlier and note the position of the first crane.
Also, note the shadow of the convex "clearance mirror" mounted above the windshield of the green crane.
Doesn't change from when it's still on the dock to when it's in the drink.

Pretty good photoshopping though.

(bigger pics in my album if you want to see it better)

Good Photoshopping? D'oh .

There's no way that they were professionals using the first crane, though. It had none of those support out-rigger thingers (official terminology). Look at the crane list to the side! What a bunch of morons. I'm probably related- looks like something we'd do at a family reunion.

I got the entire series of pics in my email too. When I looked at the last one in the series (or the second one up from the bottom in phox's earlier post, where the green crane is falling into the drink) I noticed that none of the people standing on the wharf turned around to look at the thing fall into the drink. That's were I started thinking Photoshop. If I was standing there, I believe I would have been startled enough to turn around when the thing started tipping. (Although, having already witnessed one crane fall into the drink, maybe they were bored with the whole "crane falling into the water" bit)

The little boat and the people disappeared in the pic of the green crane going in.

If you look a bit closer theres a few other details that are not the same in the series.

look real close on the first wrecker. the outriggers were used but the right side was set up on the very edge of the wall. once it slipped off the wall it was all over for the first wrecker. i had the same pictures of this accident but i can't find them. they were close-ups of the whole thing but you could see the outriggers on the first one.

second wrecker going in the water is obiviously a fake.
