BD Power Pup in Recovery Mode?

Hi all,

I have searched and not found many answers for a problem like the one I am having currently.

I was showing off the CTD power to my buddy today with the Power Pup in Performance Mode. It has been there for the past month with no issues. Good power and such. Well anyway, my buddy wanted to know what stock felt like, so I said no problem, let's change program and I will show you. So I downloaded stock and fired her back up. ABS, Airbag, and Brake Warning light came on and did not turn off. It did the same thing when I first put the Pup on the truck. That time a couple of key cycles and backing up made all of those lights go off. No such luck this time, but the truck was running. Went around for about 5 minutes with it in stock. I pulled over proceeded to load Performance back in. It got to 18% and froze up. It did nothing for about 5-8 minutes. I can hear a clicking sound turning on and off rapidly from the engine compartment. It didn't sound right. I waited another 5 minutes before deciding that I had to do something. I turned the key to the off position. Clicking stopped. Now when I turn the truck back on the Power Pup says Recovery Mode, Your ECM has been erased. Unplug both batteries and plug them back in. Turn the Key to Run and Press Y to enter recovery mode.

I do all of this and nothing. I have unhooked both negative and positive on both batteries and let it sit an hour and try again. Same result.

Also, the clicking comes back when the key is in the run position and it is a round thing mounted under the driver's side battery. It has a cable line that is running to the intake(throttle possibly?). Also, the in dash CD changer is jammed and going crazy.

It is Sunday, no one is opnen and no phones are getting answered. Any ideas or inputs?

Bill

I wish it would do it for me that easily. Hopefully I will get some luck coming my way in the morning when I can get someone at Bullydog on the phone. Everything that I have been able to find seems to suggest that they are pretty good at getting things up and running again.

judge88,

That is my plan. Fortunately the local truck accessory place is about a mile away from me and he is a Try before you buy dealer, so I am hoping that he has a master downloader or at least a hotline that he can get through to Bullydog on. I am trying to keep my head up on this one and am thinking that downloaders are not for me. Perhaps a module instead. My better half has been kicking me all day about breaking my truck. "Good job there, you got an 8,000 pound paper weight." is what I have been hearing all day. And they wonder why we like to be by ourselves a lot. LOL.

When i had the power pup instead of the triple dog, i just followed the instructions in the manual. Worked great.

Triple dog has no problems.

Just to update for future reference. I went to the local BD dealer who had the Master Downloader and took him to my truck. He got Stephen on the phone from BD and they had my truck up and running in about 10 minutes. All issues corrected themselves. I am glad that I didn't go to the dealer first.

I had the same thing happen to me last night. Same symptoms and everything. Except I was changing from tow to stock. I dont know what happened. I only use the **** thing 3 maybe four times a year. I managed to get it started some how to get myself home , but all the lights were on ( engine, abs , airbag, brake) but the truck ran good. and I could tell that the stock settings where working. I wish BD had 7-24 hotline. they need to!!!
