In my opinion age doesn't qualify or disqualify for being taken seriously. I'm 33 right now and therefore just the right age to be considered senile by the young squirts and juvenile by the old geezers ;D

Cumminsdude, I think you handled yourself well on the board.

The powerstroke I had to repair had a filter restriction minder switch in there. It would light the SES light when there was too much vacuum present. When you left the circuit open (unplugged) it made no difference to a new filter. Only downside would be that with a severely clogged filter you wouldn't know that it needs changing.
On turbocharged engines the IAT usually is measured post intercooler. (There are too many variables involved to guesstimate from ambient and boost-like potential dirt on intercooler, flow across it etc)
